Get a thermacell. They work great. Best invention for early season hunting in the south in the past 25 years. You could even do a review on one. They aren't as effective when its windy. For obvious reasons.

You got that right, my knife is for what I think it's for. I don't care what anyone says, you use your knife for what you want and I'll use my knife for what I want. Keep up the great work, I really enjoy your videos and I trust your opinion. I just wish I knew where that beautiful place behind you was? Thank you for your time and information.

Greetings Bryan from Spain 🇪🇸 , this knife is originally known in my country for belonging to the firm "J&V" and for the model "Celtibero" , this cutlery firm makes an interesting range of knives of different sizes and high quality both for tasks of bushcraft as well as for tactical and military environments . A range of knives highly recommended for their great "quality-price" ratio 👍

Thx for the video. Looks like a good knife. I agree with u on baoning. Yes one needs to use common since but I bought the knife, it's mine & I do baton for kindling. I luv my Saw & Belt knife. I know the place for a hatchet, but I just hav never been much for hatchet. As long as I have been watching u tube videos the debate on batoning has been raging & forever will be. Each to his own 😀

I don’t use my ratchet for a hammer. But, if a knife is made from a good quality steel and it has a full tang, I don’t see a problem with batoning it. If Bryan isn’t willing to baton it on Survival on purpose, I don’t believe I would purchase it.

If I don't have a hammer, I'll used a ratchet, hell I use a rock, my hand.... Gotta get the job done. Anyone that doesn't want to know if this can baton in a survival situation, shouldn't be buying a survival knife. 🤣

You are the man my wife warned me about! Since I started watching your vids my arm developed a 3×4 bald spot! My thick beautiful hairy arm is losing its skeeter defense! The wild women no longer seek me out! At 69, my wife is happy bout that, hoho I have more kindling than firewood. All my work knives are morphing into bushcraft and kephart knives. My new pigskin gloves needed repair. Oh what to do???

I’ve had a Dynatrap XL for years ,works great for mosquitoes. I even lived next doo too house with a pool that had went into foreclosure, no mosquitoes. I’ve even used it at a campground with friends, and they bought one when they got home.

Or it could be that steel. I have no problem with the Bohler steel they use in some of their blades (N690?) but the MOVA stuff is not up to par. You pay a lot of money for essentially 440A. Designs and workmanship are always great, but I just can’t pay that much for a mystery stainless steel from the 1970s.

Greetings from Nova Scotia Canada, Bryan id like to switch gears here a bit. I hear ALOT of different you tubers, WHINE & COMPLAIN about Mossy Oak Knives !! They say their crap, garbage, blah blah blah. Well i had 1 of their common stainless steel bowies & i on PURPOSE smashed & beat the crap outta it.. It NEVER broke or barely got scrathed !! My point is: ID LOVE TO SEE YOU SOMETIME PLEASE TO DO A COMPARISON TEST of a Mossy Oak against another brand. Thanks for the videos, love them & keep em coming Sir. 🙏🤝👍💯👊

You can baton wood with your knife if you want to. It's yours. People who say that batoning wood is not what it's for are missing the point. There's a better tool for the job, of course. Similarly, if you want to open a box, fillet a fish, or kill a man, there's a better knife for the job. So, how many tools are you going to carry? The survival knife you have with you is a better hammer than the hammer you don't have with you, a better pry bar than the pry bar you don't have with you, a better shovel than the shovel you don't have with you, and a better axe than the axe you don't have with you. And that's _precisely_ what it's for.

I'd use a Hatchet for light chopping, not this Knife. This Knife is basically a Heavy -Duty Kindling /Splitter , tent-peg carver & Food-Prepper for Camping. Too heavy for skinning anything smaller than a Cape Buffalo. The glossy wood handle is slippery / slick=Dangerous when wet ! JMHO....Becker BK7 would perform best here. A Dangler-Sheath would be more Purposeful than a Scout-Carry for this little Beast..lol. Enjoy your new knife...honest review. Howdy from Canada !

Just watched your vid on smoke bombs. Good idea for rescue locating. What I carry when I'm in the field, or even just traveling on our highways, is a PLB, Personal Locator Beacon. There are a number on the market , but I settled on the one connected to the Air Force and military satellites, " ACR, Res Q Link +"....Check it out Brian....

So the only thing this knife does well is get hit with a baton or not use the edge. Doesn’t chop well, doesn’t carve well, choil is too big (as you were driving through the 2x4, the wood went into the choil). Not sure why there is jumping like that on a knife that doesn’t carve very well. No surprise that it splits well when being driven into the wood. At 5mm thick, it will push the wood further apart than thinner edges.

Between the gun buyback, the copying the FRT trigger, and now trying to profit of Kyle Rittenhouse, I'm done with BDU. I look at them about the same as Cheaper than Dirt.(non-2a profiteers) I have the utmost of respect for you and your channel sir, I was watching long before I subscribed. Keep up the great reviews!
@SurvivalOnPurpose2 жыл бұрын
I guess we disagree I have met the owners of Big Daddy Unlimited and they are good people who value liberty and our Constitution. I don’t necessarily agree with their rationale for attending the gun buyback event but I think their intention was good so I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. And, unlike Dirt Cheap, their prices really are excellent, often the absolute lowest I can find.

Just got this knife, I am not impressed. It was not sharp at all and it's because the edge has a nasty fold on it I can not even remove with a steel. It will need to be resharpened professionally. The leather stinks so bad too. The tang exceeds the wood grip slightly all the way around and the tang is very sharp, not cool. I'd give this knife a solid pass, don't buy it. Sorry man but it was clearly not as good as the one you have in the video.
