Dude the world cup is huge it gets billions of live viewers. Soccer fans tune in for the opening ceremony. To be chosen to perform there is a huge honor ! The first asian artist ever. He gained many new fans from it

He really did gain some fans from there and some respect from some sports fans for his performance, some didn't know who he was or that he was from BTS until after looking him up later. He had great charisma on stage and with Fahad. The members were so proud, it was amazing. This may be a rumor I'm not sure but some people were saying that in big performances like that for the World Cup and other sports events because of the scale of production and acoustics most lip sync or even told to because you just can't hear yourself while you sing to know if your synced up with the audio or if your singing in pitch. Despite that JK was singing live which isn't easy. I think BTS are so seasoned professionals and their sound team are so good that they are use to having technical issues like that with stadium tours. Plus that boy has perfect pitch it's crazy.

FIFA is the soccer/ football world cup it's way bigger than the superbowl, so to be picked for this is a big deal just as if you are picked for the superbowl for Americans.

Pat, Jungkook got picked by the FIFA organization. He thought it was the whole group but they only wanted him. This is a huge honor world wide. They wrote the song and he worked on it from there. When he went there for the actual event he had to Pull all the choreography and Dancers together t 0:00 o make a stage worthy show. Took him 6 days. Lucky he went early. They had no coreo for him so he had to practice the main dance in his hotel room and then pull it all together. Amazing for a 25 year old guy by himself.

1 billion people watched the opening ceremony of the Qatar World Cup back in 2022 - this is a football world competition that happens every 4 years. When i say football I mean what of the rest of world calls football. It is the biggest thing ever and to be invited to sing at the opening ceremony is the biggest honour. Fahid is one of Qatar's best known singer.

So Pat, imagine the Suoer bowl X many times over. The FIFA World Cup is something that mostly every country has to play ( soccer) against each other starting the qualifying matches 2-3 years prior to the competition. It’s a competition that happens on,y every 4 years. So each continent holds their qualifying matches and then the top 4 or 5 of each region gets to go to the competition. It is the biggest competition in the world. Our JK did us ARMY proud in 2022 in Quatar. It was great !
