I strongly disagree with the idea that it would have been better if Dean didn't know the Charlies were physically linked. The fact that Dean KNEW anything he did to dark Charlie would affect good Charlie and he still couldn't suppress the Mark's influence during that fight is more impactful. He could have subdued her less violently, and yet she ends up bruised and bloody with a broken arm. That just shows how close he is to being able to turn that rage onto his actual loved ones and how strong the Mark's pull has become, because that was still Charlie even if it wasn't Charlie as they know her.

It's possible that Death couldn't send someone to that alternate dimension without their permission, which is why he was trying to convince Dean instead of just doing it. So picking someone psychotic and giving them the mark could have backfired horribly.

Dean could not give the mark to anyone else. Death had made clear that he could be brought back by Sam. This meant that whoever else he gave it to could possibly come back, maybe after he was long dead. Giving it to murderer without his self-control would condemn the world to death. Dean was never going to risk that. Also, as he said, he could not inflict that on anyone else. I feel you forget that Dean is a good person.

I definitely enjoyed this season, but I gotta say season 11 may just be the best season since season 5. But we’ll get there. I did enjoy the mark storyline but I just really hate Dean not being a nice person (lol) so that usually takes my enjoyment out of a lot of s9 and 10. But Fanfiction will always be one of the best episodes of the entire series. I agree that the worst part of the story was the styne family. If they were a part of the storyline earlier on, I think I would have appreciated it more but I did figure something out: They are there as a plot piece for Dean. We needed to see Dean go down the rabbit hole of darkness, and what better to show that than killing an entire faction of people essentially. But anyhoo, RIP Charlie and I can’t wait for season 11!

Season 10 recap, let's gooo 🥳 Long comment incoming (again) : Here my choices for the awards (please everyone don't take offense if you disagree)... Fave episode of the season: same! 10×05 (the first time since s6 we had an ep from my top 10 list again) This is the whole list of fave eps I marked down for the season in this watch: 10×02? | 10×03 | 10×05! | 10×09 | 10×11? | 10×14 | 10×17 | 10×18 | 10×21 | 10×22 Favourite scene: first meeting of Cas and Charlie (they're my two fave characters so...) Most heart breaking scene: Charlie's death too Funniest scene: yeah I think I'm gonna go with yours as well Favourite kiss: don't really have one. Favourite kill: Dean killing Cain Favourite quote: "you can't spell subtext without s-e-x" 😆 from 10×05 (honorable mention to Rowena's "I barely know the man" in 10×21 since it was delivered so perfectly) also once again some other great quotes I love Favourite case: I'm gonna go with the Hibbing case for the Donna & Joday team up Favourite monster: ha idk if I would have counted him as a monster in the regard, but yeah demon!Dean Favourite ship: still... Destiel is my poison so... it's Cas and Dean for me. Favourite friendship: I'm giving it to Cas & Dean once again, I have to. (Love yours though) Least favourite character: agree Most underrated character: same Charlie (she's not really underrated, but still) Favourite character: Castiel. Not a question for me. He is the reason I started the show and I love Misha, so gotta go for Cas. Again the placement of this season hasn't changed to after my first watch so far... My personal season ranking at this point: 8>5>9>10>4=6>7>2>1>3 Sorry s1-3, but no Misha in a season automatically puts you lower than a season with him. I like your season order, I would put 2 higher, but I understand your reasoning. Cas is great and Misha is too yummy not to love.

I looked to see if I could pick a favorite episode. Normally this would be so difficult for me because there are usually too many I really liked. This season it was difficult because looking just at the titles briefs, none of them jumped out as excellence for me. I think Executioners Song & Fanfiction were the only two I could possible qualify. This season had some moments but overall I think my least favorite so far. I do enjoy your take and tend to agree with a lot of your picks especially your love for certain characters, like Crowley, Bobby & Charlie!

There really isn’t any stand out filler episode in this season.. this was a more story driven one they had a good storyline with the mark and they put in full drive
