Cover the prop shaft when you're drilling to keep the chips out. Wear some glasses for the same reason.

i had to replace 2 of the screws they broke on me i put mine on a 5.0 liter merc 305 inboard 260hp am i safe havent ran it yet

I like it...easy to install and use...allows for super slow speeds and no loss of performance. No, it only raises as water pushes it up as you move through the water.

None that I have experienced...just have to use more RPM's to navigate.

Why not put trol a matic upside down so you can mark the holes on top then drill down without removing prop?

No...it does not...the two products are different for different applications. All the best.

Do you know how far back from the prop I should mount the Trol A Matic?

Put it back as far as you can, but mount it so that there is plenty of of lower unit fin as this will be under A LOT of torque.

It steers good...just goes slower.
