I am 31 and just started wearing boots 2 months ago. I wore them every day (days where i wasnt around friends) for about a month, before i wore them around my friends. Over the past month, only one friend has even noticed, and they commented on how cool they were. They now own their first pair haha.

Love the channel! Chicago boy, grew up in the hood. Family from Kentucky wore cowboy boots growing up. Was always interested in them but never thought in a million years I’d own a pair. Fast forward 30 years… I’m literally in Houston Texas for work and decided to stop in Boot Barn after coming to Texas a few times. Walked out with a pair of Cody James and absolutely love them!!! Growing up I was told Tony Lama was the way to go and I found a pair I have my eye on, but overall still happy. Came across the channel trying to learn more about boots and have deep dive on the channel. Sitting in my hotel room I decided to condition them so I can wear them home tomorrow (awesome video btw). I’m sooo stoked I finally got a pair and already looking at others along with the second hand market. Loving it and will continue on this journey!

This is your best video yet. I've been in boots for over 40 years and grew up in rural WNY Attica where me, my friends and pretty much EVERYONE in those days wore boots. I got away from them for no real reason, but I had back surgery and was laid up at which time I found your channel which inspired me to pull my 30 year old Nocona and Justin out of the closet... instantly I thought why did I ever stop wearing these... I know have purchased 8 more pairs and still going. This is all because of you Jeremiah, I can't thank you enough for bringing back to boots... oh, one of those new 8 pairs is the one of one Jeremiah Craig roper BNV

I started during the pandemic, dad let me choose my first pair as a bday gift. No one but my family noticed at first, now I'll occasionally get compliments here and there. My friends will tease me with yeehaw comments occasionally and I'll do the worst western movie accent in response 🤠 I don't even remember why or who got me interested in anything cowboy related. One day I absolutely despise country music and I go "Hey! I've never even heard country music, I'll start today" from then out I got deep into country music, then Red Dead Redemption II came out, and suddenly I was wearing boots, hats and buckles! I feel great in them, huge boost in confidence. As for how long... Well I'm turning 19 so a year, have about 5 pairs I think soon pair number 6 (if I counted right) will be Luccheses! Can't wait

First time I wore boots was in high school. Didn't wear boots in college because I never saw anyone else wearing them. After college a buddy of mine wore them so I started again, but only on rare occasions. Then in 2015 or 2016, I started wearing boots again and now, aside from when I'm working out or wearing shorts, boots are the only footwear I wear. If you compliment a guy wearing boots and say "nice boots", make sure your tone doesn't sound condescending. Might be better to say, "Hey, those are really nice or cool boots." Just a suggestion. What I've found is the more you wear boots, the less of an issue it becomes that you are wearing them. It just becomes the norm. Keep doing what you're doing, Jeremiah.

I think my grandparents must have bought me my first pair of cowboy boots when I was maybe 5 or 6. I remember that they were black. Then I spent my entire adult life wearing tennis shoes. I'm 58 now and bought my first pair of cowboy boots as an adult maybe a year and a half ago and just started wearing them in public earlier this year. I started watching Dog the Bounty Hunter's show a couple of years ago and Duane explained how cowboy boots give you a little elevation. That sounded really good to me, so I began thinking about getting a pair and visited a couple of local Western stores but couldn't find a single pair that I liked. So, I started searching on eBay and that really opened up the selection. I started with a pair of used like-new Ariat boots and kept finding more and more that I liked ranging from $25 to about $90, all used. I'm up to 9 pair now. The deals on nearly-new boots are incredible, and they're all beautiful. I was a bit self-conscious about wearing them in public for the "first" time, so I started out wearing them at home for a few weeks and getting used to them. Then I went to a grocery store and back. Then I visited some friends. Some noticed the clomping noise right away and others seemed oblivious. I can't imagine getting any flak as an adult, although this is in WA State. I'm planning to move to AZ soon, and I don't think wearing cowboy boots there will be considered particularly unusual. I must say, they took a bit of getting used to and weren't very comfortable at first since more of your weight is on the balls of your feet rather than the heel. I'm hardly noticing now.

Having lived in both WA and AZ I can confirm that it is much more accepted in AZ haha. Great strategy going second hand with slightly used boots on eBay. It's such a smart way to get into boots!

I got into cowboy boots and the whole western genre when I traveled out west for the first time to Wyoming. I was 12 years old. Then I got really into the game Red Dead Redemption (the original) which got me even more interested and had always wanted a pair of boots. I was thinking a nice, minimialistic black pair with a rounded toe. Well last summer, I finally got a pair. They are my personal favorite footwear.

This was an awesome segment!! I have worn boots for so many years and I usually received compliments on my boots. Some of those compliments actually came from people I was surprised that they even noticed the boots. When I began suffering from chronic pain due to severe motor vehicle accidents I was surprised to find how helpful they are if you suffer from back, neck or leg joint pain. Cowboy boots are fantastic footwear to wear to help control pain.

I started wearing boots in February this year, and started wearing a matching western/ranch wear(cowboy hat included) living in the city, going to school. I’ve gotten a TON more compliments such as “nice hat” or “nice outfit” along those lines, as well as questions, and people coming up to me to talk simply because of what I wear. Safe to say I’m quite recognizable in the area and made a bit of a reputation at my high school. I guess the take away is “Don’t be afraid to be you”

I am 61 now. I started wearing cowboy boots two years ago, mainly because of this KZbin channel. My first pair were the Ariat Heritage roper. Very comfortable. Since then, my wife bought me a pair of Tecovas in ostrich. Wow, those are so comfortable. I have received many comments on them, mostly positive, especially wearing them to work (back to the office). Like many commenters have said, most people don't get how comfortable these boots are. I have recently picked up another pair of Tecovas in the Lizard skin, which are now my dress go to boots. Once you're hooked on wearing cowboy boots, you will be adding to your collection. A big thank you Jeremiah for starting me on this journey.

I used to wear cowboy boots when I was a young man in my 20's in Indianapolis IN...stopped wearing them as I got older, fatter, more professional (aka uptight), married, etc. Fast forward over 20 years later, divorced, lost weight, etc. and taking a remote position at a law firm in Nashville TN about a year and a half ago. I visit Nashville TN for a week every month. My coworkers told me about Ariat boots, and I went to the Ariat brand store in Nashville TN for the first time a year ago. I bought a pair of Ariat Lasco Ultra in bar top brown. Love them! They are my favorite pair. Now I own a half dozen Ariat pairs ranging from Sport Herdsman black, Booker Ultra black round toe, Midtown Rambler in stone...and even a pair of Ariat Chukka boots. I actually even started wearing more western clothes. I used to wear only solid dress shirts, dress pants, dress shoes. Now I wear jeans, boots, flannel, plaid, and even a felt outback cowboy hat. I get compliments on the boots and the cowboy hat frequently, in both Indy and Nashville. What changed? I found that western wear is comfortable, functional, durable, and exudes confidence. i shop the Ariat brand store just about every time I go to Nashville. My coworkers call me an honorary Tennessean and gave me a western belt buckle with my initial on it. They said I am one of them now. I brought a little bit of Tennessee back up north to Indy with me.... but I may end up moving to Nashville eventually because it has changed me for the better. How's that for a spiritual experience!

I had a neighbor who only wore boots, and he was just a cool guy and it made me think I might want to try them, but I just never found a good reason to buy them. Then last year for Halloween, we dressed up as musicians, and I was Kid Rock. So I thought, here's my chance. I bought a pair of cowboy boots "for my costume", knowing I could use that excuse to finally try wearing them on other occasions. I still get a little self concious about them, but love the way they look and feel, and I am finally taller than my wife when they are on - so I've been trying to wear them more and more. Thanks Kid Rock!

I don’t remember when I got my first cowboy boots but I know I wore them as a kid, but when I go a little older and through my teenage years I don’t think I ever wore them cause I was into sports and all that all the time and I didn’t get back into them till my early twenties and the funny thing is the reason I got back into wearing cowboy boots is I absolutely despise having to tie boots or shoes lol and ever since I rarely ever wear anything else, as a truck driver I travel all around the US and I’ve never been heckled about my boots I’ve had people call me a cowboy or ask if I was a cowboy but never in a mean spirited way, most times people ask where I got them or compliment them, I do have one good friend from upstate NY that gives me crap, he calls them roach killers lol but it all in good fun he knows I don’t care, and I just give him crap right back about something else, I’d say it’s probably close to 50/50 within my friends that do and don’t wear boots but in Virginia where I was born, raised and still live that’s kind how it is at least in the country, some people do some don’t so either way nobody really thinks twice about it.

Cowboy boots were really popular when I was growing up in the late 60s and 70s and I was really drawn to them but didn't have the confidence to give them a go. I did get one pair but seldom wore them. Years later in my 50's I tried a pair of ankle boots and got a few negative comments but I enjoyed them too much so decided to try some more traditional long shaft ones with cowboy heels. I was hooked! I've now gots lots and wear them confidently all the time around all my friends. Even though I still get the odd tongue in cheek 'Brokeback' comments and one good friend who said she'd chop off her husband's legs if he wore them! I just laugh and carry on cos they just give me too much pleasure. Life's for living! Enjoy them! Thanks for your encouragement and cowboy boot education Jeremiah. Great stuff!

I'm 17 and started wearing cowboy boots when I was 15. Before I just wore regular work boots which were fine for working in most conditions but here in the northeastern winters i'd always get snow and stuff in my boots so I started looking into cowboy boots as my solution because they fit the practicality part and they look good too. So I started with a $150 pair of steel toe Justins, then I realized I wanted more of a traditional style with a cowboy heel so I bought myself a pair of Abilene's at circle B western. Both pairs of cowboy boots have held up well and I also like that I can wear cowboy boots for basically anything I do and I'll be comfortable and they can handle anything, whether that be work, riding quads or dirtbikes, more formal things, or just as a shitkicker I throw on for anything.

So i got my first ever pair of cowboy boots very recently. 2 weeks ago maybe less. They are tony lamas desert outpost. Goat skin. The thing is, i do not live in US. I live in small country in Europe located on balkan peninsula called Serbia. And here it is very possible that i am the only person out of 7 million population wearing cowboy boots. To add to that, people here unfortunately do not really like west, especially US. I love it tho, would like to move one day. I wore my boots every day since i got them and almost everyone looks at them as they pass by. People mostly dont say anything but i see judgemental looks and coult not care less. I hand arround with musitians in my city often, and am known as the only serbian guy who listens and plays country music. They all know it and have complimented my boots so many times. So as you said, life goes on and what other people thing doesnt matter, but it shows just how much it matters to be surrounded with people who respect you and are your kind of crew. Just wear em with confidence and you cannot be put down! The sound heel makes when walking is enchanting to me as well!

Dude, love your viewpoint on asian cowboys. If you look at the history of the term cowboy, it was a slur used for Mexican, African, and Chinese ranch workers. The white ranch workers were known as cowhands/ranchhands/farmhands. It wasn't until Hollywood put a spin on the cowboy and made him white that it became a source of pride.

I started to wear mine after college. Family members always wore boots, but I guess I wanted to distance myself from that. When I wanted to wear them, I felt people would make fun of me, especially my family. When I finally went to what was the Western Warehouse at the time, got me some Justin bay apaches. I got the odd comment here and there, but mostly positive. Now, it's all I wear, and have dozens of pairs. Props on this video. Been wearing cowboy boots since 1983 Junior year in College. They were popular then. Love the comfort and understand what you mean by "Spiritual feeling." Went off them to conform to office attire. Switched to Roper boots for that purpose. Explored Engineer and Harness boots and I like them too. Now back to traditional cowboy boots as I have back/hip aches when I'm on my feet for long hours and the boots keep the pain at bay. Never had any negative remarks. I wear them when travelling in Asia & Europe. Gotten compliments at airport security. Boots slip on & off easily, no laces to mess with. If you struggle to take your boots off, they are too small. Go 1/2 to 1 size up. I'm Asian and get lots of compliments when I'm in a Hispanic neighborhood. I feel accepted as one of them.

Ive lived in west Texas for the last 14 years and i actually get shocked responses from coworkers when i say i dont have at least one pair of boots lol. Considering where im at i probably have nothing to worry about.

I always wanted a pair of boots since I was a teenager. Finally last year I really was interested in them again. Yellowstone had something to do with that too. We got a boot barn in my town and honestly I was starting to not like the jeans and other clothes at department stores. I started shopping there trying on boots. Got myself a pair of boots for myself just before my 48th birthday at the end of November. Now I have 3 leather sole pair and 2 work boot type. First few times I wore them out I wore jeans and a pearl snap shirt. To work and Thanksgiving dinner. I got a lot of looks no one said anything bad though. Actually I was told I should wear that more often 😅

@@JeremiahCraig definitely that did encourage me more. I did get some comments like where's your horse? I let that go and wore it out more. I got a few hats too. Not been wearing them as much since it's been hot here. Going to wear it to the Jason Aldean show next week for sure.

I was 15 when I got my first pair of cowboy boots. It was "cavalery/harness" model. It was a way of affirming my difference. Now I'm 43, and I still wear boots. I've got 10 pairs. All made in Spain, USA or Mexico. (Anderson Bean, Horsepower, Fenoglio, Azulado/Allen's, Tony Lama, Sendra and Tony Mora boots). I always assumed, and I never paid attention to what others thought. They’re even curious, most of the time. PS: I live in France 😉

I’m late to this video…. I get “you a cowboy now? You going to ride a horse today?” My answer is “you have on basketball shoes? You about to start a pick up game today!?” I love my boots and my straight leg stackable jeans!

I always been somewhat scared to wear western clothing. The day i started, the amount of compliments was phenomenal. Everybody said if fits me, find me sexy or beautiful and look at me differently. Than i said alright its my style and ill own it

I had a guy, who thought he was clever, ask me where I parked my horse. I said “I parked him next to yours. That’s a polo shirt isn’t it?”..another guy who asked about my horse I asked him “where’s your tennis racket? Aren’t those tennis shoes?” Lol I can take it and dish it. All in good fun.

I just saw this, my first pair of boots were back in 78. I was 13 years old. My mom got the at Tom McCann. And I wear boots everyday to the office and I've been asked .. how can I wear them all day. My answer is always how come you don't. I tell them I buy a pair of boots for 300 to 500 dollars and I will have them for 15 plus years. I have a few pairs. From Dan Post to Ariats. I was a boot kid and now I am a boot man.

…glad to hear from my fellow Californians. As an SF Bay Area native, cowboy boots are an oddity. I always had worn boots ranging from the rugged motorcycle to the polished Chelsea but I had my first taste of a real cowboy boot at 16 in Austin, TX. Now 54 the amount I have accumulated is a bit disturbing. Funny is that I am so not the type to don one on. I am Mixed Filipino who is openly gay who grew up in the Atherton/Woodside area with no affinity to horses. So would that make me an impostor for I’m not butch nor drive a truck but I now have acquired and fixing up an old horse ranch in the foothills of San Jose with no horses but got me a few inbred kitties and 2 horny goats.
