It's a real shame, in the 21st century, that we have a minority party in power with an overwhelming majority of seats. It just does not make sense and it is so ridiculous that something needs doing urgently to correct this travesty of democracy. Kemi Badenoch refers to not having the numbers of seats to bring down the government on this issue but the reality is Labour doesn't have the number of voters to support them, Labour does not have the support of a very significant and overwhelming number of voters by far. Only 9.71 million people voted for Labour, 19 (NINETEEN) million people voted AGAINST Labour. Does anyone really understand this fact? We really do not have a majority party in power by a very large margin, what's wrong with the system to allow this ridiculous situation to persist??
@adrianchetwynd1334Күн бұрын
Well done John for pointing out the hidden realities of so called “democracy’s, but please chill out and stop falling for the promises of a change for the better if ever it becomes possible that the most moral and financially honest party gets into power. It’s never going to happen in your lifetime John, even if everyone believes that the voting system is designed and operated in their favour. Our current system of democracy is designed to protect the interests of the corporations that are in the position of ultimate control of the whole world and not just your particular region.

A lot of countries switched to a mixed-member proportional system. Which has its own benefits and problems.
@adrianchetwynd1334Күн бұрын
@@robf Democracy means that the overall numbers of people’s opinions wins the vote for whatever they are voting for. 4 years ago the number of people who opted to be immunised was greater than the number of people who chose not to. 4 years later, the majority of those who abstained from being immunised don’t regret their decision but many that did submit to it regret their decision which their opinions made them choose to be immunised. My point is that a majority of people having a particular opinion doesn’t mean that that opinion is right or wrong, benefits the individual or their country. A majority opinion used to be a natural phenomenon until politics and mass media was invented.

That's a different story though. It's their livelihood. Their house is also in the farm. Farming is not easy and they work from early hours in the morning till late in the evening and they don't even get overtime pay. The little money that they earn also goes back to the farm for the next generation. Yes the asset/land may be huge but their cash is not which means that they will end up selling the farm. Why noy just make the tax payable on sale? If it stays in the family there is no sale and no tax. If the property was purchased as a tax haven, they will sell on death and the tax will be paid. Simples.

To balance the IHT out farmers should be allowed to develop 1% of their land. The exact location to be agreed with the local authority but they wouldn’t be allowed to refuse PP. This would allow thousands of new homes to be built which are desperately needed. This would cover the Labour tax bill.

There has to be at least ONE supermarket in the UK that is prepared to pay the milk farmers 10p more per litre of milk than it costs to produce it. ONE. Please step forward. The public would be behind you paying farmers properly and not price gouging them out of existence. Can ONE UK Supermarket please have the balls to take the lead on this and if necessary, stand alone.

the answer is always more tax, at the same time no mention of efficiency savings, throwing money at public sector workers, even talk of a 4 day week for them, the NHS is a black hole , millions sitting at home on benefits, immigrants who come to either take from the taxpayer or work for so little they pay no tax and send any money home, we have 600,000 cars on the mobility scheme, road tax, servicing , breakdown all for free , the tax payer is the biggest purchaser of cars in the UK, how many are in use for the disabled person ? loads are used as a free car for the so called carer, even look at Legal Aid or criminal injuries, someone punches you in the face and breaks your nose, apparently that means we should give compensation, not the attacker but the tax payer , the state has grown massively and all we are told is that people with a different skin colour or sexuality deserve more than us , we need a Donald Trump to cut the State to the bone, ignore the calls of the woke middle class who all seem to be feeding off the State or charities. the people who work hard running farms with no thanks are now being penalised, this is just the beginning, Starmer seems to think we have no choice but more pain
