Got to admit, seeing Jeremy turning a handle was ... unusual. We used to spin it in a 3-step process since the cells are on either side. Spin slowly to get rid of half the honey in the outward facing cells without the weight of the inner ones breaking the comb. Flip and ramp up the speed on what used to be the inner cells ending with a vigorous spin. Now flip again and give the original cells a damned good spin. Mind you, we weren't commercial. We left 2 supers full of honey to see them through the winter as well as sugar cakes for a reserve. That meant we probably "wasted" 75% of the honey by leaving it for the bees. Me, I figure 25% is a good rate of tax.

Try burning some punky wood in your smoker (which is rotted wood), it starts instantly, it burns cool (cool smoke is good), it never goes out, it smells great and it won't choke you like cardboard, also, it lasts a good while. Another thing to burn is pine needles (if you have any in your area). That's my favorite, it makes the nicest white smoke, it smells wonderful and it will not choke you like that cardboard you're using (stop using cardboard, that's awful).
