Jeremy Corbyn says he does not want politicians making decisions outside of the law and deciding the fate of individuals. The Labour leader was reacting to Theresa May's pledge to change human rights laws if they hamper a crackdown on terror suspects. He argued that if democracy is under threat, then you strengthen it to deal with that threat.
"We won't defeat terrorism by ripping up our basic rights and democracy, but by police action to isolate and detain those who wish us harm," he told BBC Breakfast

Saying 'I can tell from your voice that you sound tired' is typical BBC bias trying to insinuate Jeremy's not up to the job, saw right through you then didn't he flower.

So many uneducated people still buying the lines of a failed capitalist ideology. This is proof that our education system is failing. Division of wealth keeps widening. The cost of living is rising disproportionate to worker's wages. In the meantime, services which poor- and middle-class people depend upon are continually being cut. If only those who have profited would invest themselves in the well-being of the community...

Not only was it rude of the presenter to make this statement (note - not a question), in my opinion it's simply not true. Anyhow, even if you do believe he looks tired, as others have said, this statement shows very subtle bias. It's called a leading statement. While I understand it may have been relevant to ask about his health, especially after touching on the health of Diane Abbott, she does this in a way that leads viewers to believe that he is in fact rundown and tired. I think he dealt with that very well (probably used to battling the media bias against him by now). Then asking about his allotment? Irrelevant and condescending. Sometimes it's not what you say or ask, it's how you say or ask it. Also it's important to add how the presenter rudely responded to the ill health of Diane Abbott, almost as if to say how dare she be ill, or even doubting the credibility her illness. Very pour.
@holyrazor_9944
@holyrazor_9944 7 жыл бұрын
The reason people are doubting the credibility of her illness is that there are reports of a passer by photographing her near the bbc minutes before her meeting on bbc radio 4. She was on the phone and appeared to be in perfectly fine health.

What pisses me off most about the BBC is the snide attempts to catch Jeremy out and catalyse the medias lampoon against him. For example when she says, 'you look tired', this is just a sneaky attempt to give the Sun ammunition to portray him as enfeebled. Realistically, I think Jeremy has looked tired in some videos and rightly so! He's been travelling up and down the country for weeks in the most intense campaign of his life, amidst terror attacks! Give the man a break. He's a very intelligent and empathetic guy, and you can tell he knows their tricks, hence why he feels compelled to convey how hes not tired, simply in order to protect himself from the parasitic press! The mans walking on egg shells and all he wants to do is improve his country for his people.

Sham Pain No his not it was the British ministry of commonwealth in 1850 that initiated Jamal al Din al Afghani to set up his own freemasonry lodge smack bang in Cairo and with their cohorts of the Wahabi affiliation which the British had already a relationship with to install the Al Saud's in power in the heart of Islam the Hejaz and call it Saudi Arabia , this all in order to seed the collapse of Islamic Caliphate of the Ottomans which precipitated two major world wars over the rich resources the Caliphate left in its demise. So now we have two groups calling themselves Salafiyya , the other in the Hejaz are called by Traditional Mu'SLIMS who are the MAJORITY but sidelined of any political leadership after colonialism , as Wahabiya after its founder Mohammad ibn Abdul Al Wahab. He rejected all 600 years of Islamic Scholarship and academia and said to interpret the Holy text and prophetic teachings to all lay Mu'SLIMS in their own way. he further shed the sanctity of human life in order to take control. How the British loved that opportunity as this seeded disunity of thought which they could never dislodge during the crusades. Right now they give the Saud's more weapons and allowed ISIS to cause chaos every where else.

The funny thing is there are so many offenders on the sex offender register who re-offend at a rate less than 5%(one of the least likely groups of criminals to re-offend) yet huge amounts of police resources are poured into "monitoring" them. It's fear like that which compels the public to encourage the waste of precious police resources when you have the police commenting on the London attackers as not posing a risk despite being on the watched list as a reason why no resources were used to monitor them. It's a complete joke.

For ensuring the wealth makers, job providers big spenders stay here instead of stealing from them and driving them away? For being the only ones to respect the people of the UK and guarantee to follow their instruction to leave the EU? Remember that labour plans to sabotage Brexit. StopMinecraftVIOLENCE coming days after she publicly announced and reaffirmed her manifesto commitment to retaining human rights. So, another desperate u-turn then. No surprise there. She collapses at the first sound of gunfire. Can you imagine how weak and wobbly she would be in negotiations? Say what you like about Corbyn, and I'm a conservative, but at least he sticks to his guns. I wouldn't trust Teresa May to organise a church fete. She has the most appalling record of failure at end everything she's done. She didn't even have the stomach for a debate! weak, wobbly and cowardly. Definitely not who we want leading the country.

Our human rights legislation requires serious offences like murder, and terrorism to be investigated by the police. The state can and has been held responsible for failures to do so. It also requires people that commit serious offences to be prosecuted (even if they have a cat). He talks about our democracy and our freedom.. What rights and freedom did the murdered children in Manchester have and the poor people in London last week? There is a trade off here and being obsessed with so called human rights at the expense of our lives seems a simple choice to me. How dare Corbyn talk about the financial crash and austerity. It was his party at the wheel when the whole economy melted down and our debts were at record levels so no wonder we had to rein in our spending...just common sense.

James Grady, you may think that but they have the single market. If we leave the single market (as Labour are planning to do because they plan to end freedom of movement), then you have to find a reason for countries to stay. Why stay here when you could move to Ireland where they are still in the single market and have corporation tax at 12%! While Labour lift theirs up to 26%!

All I see is an honest and decent man - one of the strongest people i've seen in this election- Think about it - he has been attacked relentlessly by the press, the television, by other politicians - and at every stage, the man gets back up he's unpolished, he's honest, principled and seems genuinely caring More than I can say for May anyway - and in my experience, that's as rare as rocking horse teeth in politics. He has also surprised everyone by getting to neck and neck in the polls - with the entire establishment on his back - I for one would rather have a fighter like that for this country on Brexit, some one like that would be fighting to sort out our NHS, fighting to sort out our Schools and getting on with sorting out proper solutions to problems Much rather have someone with that kind of dogged determination than having May who just seems like a typical reactive politician reacting when her poll ratings dip, switching the odd little thing around making out its a massive solution when its just a drop in the ocean just seems week, she seems prone to cave ins and u-turn under pressure, hows that gonna help during brexit negotiations??! And don't give me that crap about the magic money tree - read a bit of history They have money when its needed for wars, for bank bailouts, etc.. where do you think it comes from - its created at the royal mint, and printed for whenever its needed, its available, and its a choice what its spent on The United States did it to get out of their great depression, and they spent it on the people, giving them jobs, sorting out their countries problems and building things with it. - this time its Corbyn who's stood up and said, lets do that for a short time - lets use the tools of government and the creation of money to invest in sorting it out- Investment pays for itself over time - otherwise how else do you think companies grow - In this case Labour would be using the money created by the Government not to give to banks- but to give it directly to the people and businesses where it is needed - to grow business, create roads / rail and transport links - kick start the country out of its slump There are even Tories who have said they would do this if things got any worse economically in this country - its just a tool in a countries tool belt - they're chucking the 'magic money' tree argument at them as they themselves don't want to do it yet as they're having a great time spending that money on themselves at the top of companies and banks in pay packets and bonus's - talk about a scam All corbyn is saying is - why wait, sort it out now before it gets that bad - and we know its not going to get any better with May at the helm of brexit and the bonfire of rights that she intends to force on us all after we leave the EU Corbyn is saying - spend this money on sorting the country out now, sort out the things that have been left to rot during austerity - fund them properly Its not Rocket Science althought its often portrayed as such to put you off or confuse. The Tories are afraid of this man only because it means their mates don't get as much of this money anymore - and remember, they are there to represent them, not you Put simply - If you want things to get better - Vote Labour - why not drop the daily mail, sun for 10 minutes - and give the guy a chance - If he's no good, honestly just vote him out in 4 years, and have the tories back Vote for Change - try it - you might like it

Grow a brain

I completely agree with you. We are talking about terrorists and our police officers are unarmed. So for instance if you were those 3 terrorists on London Bridge and you knew there would be a couple of unarmed coppers that wouldn't have stopped you. In fact knowing their perverse ideology they would probably choose to attack the police first. I am not saying less police doesn't prevent crime though, just terrorism. We need to stop these people in the first place. The Tories seem to have a plan. Labour seem to think that chucking more money at it and a few more police. Plus they are talking about 10,000 police officers. We have a population of 75m. Round it up to 80m (due to foreign students and tourists). That is one more police officer to every 8000 people. Hardly going to stop the 300 people listed as needed watching.

As for the 'if we stop bombing them, they might stop bombing us'. Well that makes no sense. Look at Sweden. They have had terror attacks too and they haven't been involved in bombing. Yet, a country such as the USA who are surely the worst culprits of this haven't had an attack since the Boston Marathon bomb several years ago. It is not an attack on us in revenge but an attack on our culture and way of life which to them is wrong and sinful.
