The sequence starting at 7:36 just gives me goosebumps. They finally get him the ball and he looks back at the coach as if to say "coach don't worry I've got this". The crowd in Toronto was cheering him so loudly for a second I thought they were in New York. People love clutch performers ...... and this guy was clutch.

lin did good, but the D there was fucking dogshit, the only play possible with that time left was a 3 pointer, gave him way too much space.
@robwebnoid5763
@robwebnoid5763 2 жыл бұрын
@@officialtansei ... That was debated & discussed long ago. It was said that Calderon gave him space because if he got closer to Lin, Lin might blow right by him towards the basket, because Lin had one of the highest 1st-step metrics when he entered the NBA only a couple years earlier, of which he had already gotten cut 2 times before NY & had not played that many games yet, maybe only nearly one season's worth. Plus, Lin was already running around fast, so Calderon & Raptors knew how fast Lin ran. So there wasn't much to do in the heat of that moment & staying back safely guarding the lane was what Calderon could only have quickly thought of at that point. And I think Jeremy only had one other 3-pointer before this one, so that was another reason Calderon stayed back because he wasn't thinking of Jeremy doing a 3-point ... of which the ball famously fell in.

I'm British and lived in New York for a few years in the early 2010s. I had never watched the NBA, didn't really even while in NYC and haven't followed much since, aside from maybe watching a couple highlights from the championship games. Of course I'm well aware of the superstars like Lebron, Curry and Kobe. But aside from those guys I'd struggle to name more than 5-10 NBA players. BUT the one player that always stuck with me was Jeremy Lin. I went to Madison Square Garden whilst he was playing for there and thought he was electric. Now, 10+ years later I'm watching his highlights getting nostalgia of those days. Amazing!

People that hate want Lin to fail so bad. They always point out that it was only an 8 game stretch. But if you look at his whole career, he a better than average player. Nobody said he was Lebron but if any team would’ve invested and built around him as a center piece, he could’ve thrived to his full potential. But, because of the racism, we’ll always be left wondering what he could’ve done.

Fr though, people that don’t understand the game don’t see just how much potential this kid had, yes he was only 22 and in his second year in the NBA with literally very little playing time before that! His IQ, ability to read the game. He was very unique athlete. People say he wasn’t the best athlete, but that’s because he’s Asian I’m just being honest about that one. There’s no way you can watch his highlights throughout his career and say he wasn’t a great athlete! Just look how great he was at slashing and hanging in the air, changing directions, his speed and change of speed, everything. Lin literally had the potential to have everything! He could pass, decent shot and if he had made it more consistent from 3 would have literally been unstoppable. Could slash, could dish, great vision, great in the pick and roll, so smart, he literally had it all as a point guard. Perfect textbook point guard in his prime, and was the best team player, good person, made everyone better, he has the ability to run off on everyone and it instantly made the team thrive off of his energy! What he had is so rare in sports and is especially rare now a days in the NBA with star players… He was a natural leader, and was great guy. Always asking questions, always trying to learn and get better, people don’t listen to what the coaches that meshed with had to say about him, especially in his early years in the NBA…

Really goes to show, confidence is the MOST IMPORTANT thing in the NBA. Plenty of players in the NBA are skilled enough to be stars, they have what it takes, they wouldn't be in the league if they didn't. It just takes an almost otherworldly amount of mental fortitude to play at such a high level with so much media attention and so many distractions, to stay on your game and to stay in that confident mindset is so difficult when you're under a massive magnifying glass. Everyone talking about you, commenting on your game, making you second guess yourself, and it's only gotten worse in the era of social media. I mean look at guys like Ben Simmons. His confidence is completely destroyed, he's a shell of his former self since that Atlanta series. I feel bad for Jeremy, he literally went from completely unknown, to, practically overnight, being crowned the next superstar of the NBA's most valuable franchise. He wasn't ready for that type of pressure, and who can blame him? Who on earth would be ready for something like that? He had no time to prepare for the amount of exposure he was about to get, the NBA is a cruel place.

Knicks fans and Lin fans have to understand that Lin did this in the strike-shortened 2011-2012 season, when teams were playing a condensed schedule, and not many teams are glued in strike-shortened-seasons. And many of the teams that Lin did his magic was against weak teams. Nets went 22-44 Jazz made the postseason but with a weak 36-30 record. They were the 8th seed in the West Wizards were 20-46 Wolves were 26-40 Raptors were 23-43 The Lakers one is the WOW game, but thats it. Lakers went 41-25

Jeremy Lin could have developed his game and continued putting up crazy numbers if it wasn’t for Melo. I’ll never forgive him for it either.

Yeah I remember when he played good for like 8 games in a row and everyone thought he was good but then everyone realized he wasn't afterwards, haha

Jeremy Lin earned the ring with what he did in the nba, tons of players get rings they don't deserve even when active. I think jeremy was disappointed he couldn't have done more but I think he'd then just regret selling his soul for a buck. ANd honestly any1 who attempts to make the nba figure heads look bad with unique skills will get ousted. Same thing happened to devin hester more or less in football. They eventually made rules against him and he after a few years of recognition was in the past. It's all controlled and about sleeping with the sports boards.

Player on the roster deserve a ring even if they didn't play for their mental and physical support. Unless that player happen to be Jr Smith 🤣🤣
