Thank you!! I can't wait to watch more of your videos. You don't talk too slow, or go into exhausting detail. This is the style I like! I just got an x3, and am excited to use it in mountain real estate!

Earlier today, I was just telling someone on the phone that I should try to use the X4 to do real estate walkthroughs since I can reframe for both 16:9 and 9:16 with the same clip. Then KZbin fed me your video. Love the tip about holding the camera upside down. Makes perfect sense.

@maxhighstein11 күн бұрын
Why might you prefer using this as opposed to a good camera with a wide angle lens and a gimbal? And, do you also use the X4 for 3D tours, or do you use the R One, or a Matterport? I already have the camera/gimbal setup, and I'm trying to figure out what else I need to cover all the bases for pro results.
@jeremydeihl11 күн бұрын
I talk about it in a bunch of my videos, but this is basically a quicker and cheaper option for agents not quite willing to take the leap in spending for more well produced video. It allows me to create it in about half the time on site with very little post production in comparison. It's overall a huge timesaver so it becomes a product I can offer for less.

I enjoy your videos, you seem down to earth. Every new camera that is released is always an upgrade to the predecessor; or at least that’s what every KZbin influencer seems to say. Have you ever not liked the next model/version of the product that sponsors you?
@jeremydeihl6 ай бұрын
I can totally understand where you are coming from, and I think it's honestly because there is a misconception to the way most "sponsored" material is on the platform. Typically these cameras are sent out as testers and occasionally we end up getting to keep them, but I'll address that topic at the end of this message to help clarify my personal review methods and the way I structure these deals with the companies that send me gear to test. To answer your question specifically about the X4, I tested every photo/video/timelapse/hdr/single lens/low light option for the X4 and it blew the X3 out of the water on every test(the only thing I did not test was MeMode). The only 360 camera I tested it against that did any better was the ONE RS 1-inch 360 edition, but that only won in the bracketed HDR image category, with the video for the X4 being better in every mode. IMO the X4 is a hands down better camera than the X3. I have actually put this up in a couple videos before, because you have the right to question our authenticity when review products. I personally never take money from a company for a review of their product. I will allow a sponsored tutorial by a company for their product, but my product reviews are typically not sponsored at all, or sponsored by a separate unaffiliated company. When I do receive the item for free or testing I always disclose that even in the un-sponsored reviews. My goal is to be as un-bias as possible and just go over the features I enjoy about these products and if I don't enjoy them, I simply don't do a posted video about it. I will send those items back, or I'll give them both away as I have done a few times on the channel. I just want to inform people and help people grow in their craft, and my biggest piece of advice is typically don't buy a piece of gear until you HAVE to have it to finish a paying job. With all that being said I would love to everyone reading with the exact email I send out to brands that reach out to me for reviews. The wording has changed a bit over the past 2 years, but basically the exact same premise and here is that email: "Dear _________, I hope this email finds you well. I wanted to express my sincere gratitude for reaching out to me with the opportunity to review your new _________. As a KZbin channel that specializes in camera and video gear reviews, I truly appreciate the recognition and interest you have shown in my work. There are two options for how I accept and review products and gear on my channel. The first would be a paid sponsorship for a video I am producing not related to the _________ you would like reviewed. That could be your company sponsoring a video unrelated to your gear where I plug your company in a 15-30sec ad read and that would ensure a dedicated review of the products you send me to test. If sponsoring a video is not an option and you are looking for a trade review with no money changing hands I recommend sending 2 of whatever product you want reviewed because that will give you a higher percentage of making it on the channel if I have the ability to do a giveaway with it for the followers of my channel. Before proceeding, I would like to clarify my review policy. As an independent reviewer, my goal is to provide honest and unbiased opinions to my audience. I believe it is crucial to maintain the trust and integrity of my channel by only endorsing products that I genuinely believe in. This means that I cannot guarantee a positive review for any products I receive. My reviews tend to be more positive in nature, but if there are bugs or faults, I will speak about those as well. However, I do understand the value of offering exposure to new products and brands, and I am open to considering items for review even if I may not end up featuring them on my channel. If you still wish to send the product for me to evaluate, please let me know, and I will be more than happy to provide you with my shipping address where the _________ can be sent along with any specs sheets you would like me to focus on testing. Please keep in mind that by sending a product to me, you acknowledge and accept that I reserve the right to evaluate it based on my own experience and perspective. In the event that I am unable to feature the product on my channel or provide a positive review, I will not be obligated to create content related to it. Once again, I want to express my appreciation for your interest in collaborating with me. I believe it is essential to foster relationships with companies like yours, and I value the opportunity to explore new products and share my expertise with my audience. If you have any further questions or would like to discuss this further, please feel free to reach out. I look forward to hearing from you." Hope this helps clear up any questions you had and lets you know a little more behind the scenes of the way these deals are done with smaller channels like mine.

do you have any thoughts on the Insta360 program's noise reduction toggle for export?
@jeremydeihl6 ай бұрын
Honestly, I have no experience with it because I typically use DaVinci resolve for all of my noise reduction since I know it's a far superior product. That being said, you have to spend $300 on the studio version of DaVinci to get that noise reduction and the one with insta360 is free so it's really a tough choice if you don't already own DaVinci

Question. For field of view (FOV) do you use MegaView, Ultra Wide or Dewarp? Also, would you ever recommend Active HDR for video? Thanks
@jeremydeihl6 ай бұрын
The Active HDR is ok for exterior video but I found for interior it's kinda like the worst aspects of 8k and 5.7k put together. Its ok for fun action stuff, but for the client delivery I tend to stay away from the HDR video. When it comes to the mode I record in, I always choose to have the least amount of fisheye look because that can make the video feel "cheap" so I always go as narrow as possible unless I'm doing a fun shot that needs it to be wide. Ultimately you can always change it in post anyway 😁
@ErikHill15 ай бұрын
this is so cool.. is there any way you can remove more of the distortion in the video walkthroughs?
@jeremydeihl5 ай бұрын
You can, in the Insta360 studio you can choose your field of view and zoom options to remove a lot of the distortion. For the agents I work with, this style of video, they don't mind the distortion. The agents who typically hate distortion are buying my higher end videos that have more production value baked into them.

So I have a question: in my case I own both the x4 and an osmo action 4 (aside from professional cameras). Why would I use the 360 instead of a regular wide angle action camera for a virtual tour? For exteriors and 360 pictures it definitely makes sense, but other than that you’re basically use a single lens mode. Are there any actual benefits to using the 360?
@jeremydeihl3 ай бұрын
Aww man, so many reasons why, but her are just the ones I can think of in 2 minutes: 1) the stabilization is way better on the 360 cam 2) no gimbal required to keep the camera straight and level. 3) much easier to get both vert and horz shots from the same clip without shooting the property twice
@DrewProject3 ай бұрын
@@jeremydeihl interesting. The action 4 can shoot 4:3 and you can decide the format later. Has horizon balancing which works as well as the x4. And the stabilization is great, no need for gimbals. What I’m curious about is whether you would actually reframe the shot in a way that’s not possible with just a single lens camera/mode. Don’t get me wrong, your work is amazing and i loved the video, I’m just trying to figure out whether i (so it’s a very personal question/pov for me, definitely not something that would work for everyone) would be better served by a single lens camera in this specific instance. I already own them both so for me it’s not a matter of what to buy. 😊
@jeremydeihl3 ай бұрын
@@DrewProject let me ask you a question, have you ever actually tried to use your Action 4 for real estate videos without a gimbal? My biggest problem is that the cameras are extremely light and small, which means it's very very difficult to keep straight horizontal lines and verticals without a gimbal. It may be able to remove a bit of wobble, but it will never be able to correct that one single issue. I have tried it with the Action 4, the Ace Pro, the GO 3S and even with that super old Sony action Cam, the RX0 I think it's called? They all have that one single issue without a gimbal. Personally I can get super smooth footage with a full sized rig and just a top handle, but can't get even clips that stay vertically correct with action cams to save my life. 9/10 times either my camera will list to the left or slightly tip up, either way there verticals are shot and that clip is unusable. With a 360 cam it does not matter what way you tilt or list the camera the verts are always correct. Not only that the ability to pull better looking clips from a full 360 image is way easier than 4:3 IMO.
@DrewProject3 ай бұрын
@@jeremydeihl oh that’s interesting. Thank you for the insight! No i haven’t. I don’t do real estate, I mainly work on movie sets with bigger cameras. But I’ve recently been asked to start doing some real estate so i came across your channel trying to do some research on the topic. I think i should have started with that haha. So the horizon balance on the single lens action cameras don’t work as well with straight lines. That’s very interesting to know I had no idea. I have both the Rs one inch and and the X4 , I'm a little surprised that the X4 is better for doing these kind of vids Not that I've done enough to know this myself , what about for the virtual tours have you tried the X4 I know you've already used the 1 inch Rs that way. and what looks better to you .
@jeremydeihl6 ай бұрын
I think the ONE RS 1-inch 360 edition is still better for the Kulla 360 tours because the bigger sensor and control over the bracketing procedure. I was surprised the video beat the 1-inch honestly, but looking at it in post it was an easy choice for the X4 footage.
