which camera would you recommend for doing virtual tours for real-estate?

Honestly, that's a tough choice right now. Typically I'd pick the Insta360 ONE RS 360 Edition, but I recently found out from another subscriber to the channel. They no longer sell those batteries. That being said, by the end of this year and beginning of next year, a few companies are coming out with 360 cams, including a new Ricoh and a Brand New camera from DJI.

I was super excited when I ordered the new x4 but I feel pretty deflated now I have it. No RAW format in HDR or an option to choose 9 photos in a real pain. Worse still, if I take 8 or 9 manual photos with EV compensation there is no option to auto merge those files in the Insta360 studio. Looks like i need to manually export each dng and do the merge in Lightroom. I really hope they fix this with a firmware updste. I should have spent the extra on the RS 1 inch. I totally appreciate your instructional videos. They are really nice and informative. Many thanks.

I totally understand. It sounds like you have problems with a lot of the same photo issues I talk about in the few videos I did covering this issue. I still think the ONE RS 1-inch is the best for photos, but the dynamic range in video on the X4 is far superior to that of the ONE so IMO it really depends on which service you do more of

I am so lost in gadgets!! I bought the osbot mini 2 for web camming then realized maybe I should have bought the tail to up my house presentation game for video walkthrough and images. Now I am wondering if I should just buy this? I am using my phone for all photography. The ultrawide lens really distort some rooms. Do you LOVE the quality of these images? Are you using another gadget or this one for property tours? HELP!! ahah technology is giving me a headache. I feel I am getting no where lost in reviews.

I can understand the feeling totally, and remember the best thing to use is what you already have. I would never recommend going out and buying gear when you already have things in the search of acquiring the " Best gear for the job." I am the type of person who believes you use the right tool to do the right job. Right now for my visual creative company, I use the X4 for video walkthroughs on properties. I still use the older ONE RS 1-in 360 edition for my 360 photo work because I prefer the larger HDR bracketing for my personal editing workflow, and for my property photos and larger videos, I use my larger mirrorless cameras. If you already have something for the job, I would not recommend spending money on another camera until you have mastered the one you have, realize the areas in which it fails and then it's time to start the look for a purchase. At least that's how I choose to spend my equipment budget 😁

Some can and some can't. When you walk through doorways it's especially noticeable, but that tends to be the case with all the 360 cameras I have tested over the past few years

Is it good enough to use as walk-through video (reframe later to linear). or must be only 1-inch sensor version?

Funny you should ask that, it's actually the next video I'm working on for my channel! But I will say that so far the video mode from this camera is what impresses me the most. I'll have some direct comparison clips in that video if you're trying to decide between the two cameras

@@SuperDunner I was using that camera since it came out and it's a powerhouse, but this new x4 is a surprise contender for the low light rooms I encounter all the time

Kuula has been my delivery platform of choice for the past few years. I changed to them because I did a poll with my agents and Kuula won with like 70% of the votes. Keep in mind, I haven't checked out their platform in a few years, but I know I prefer cooler to the current matterport platform

Can you time shift like on the Ricoh thetas ?

Yes you can. Well you can do it in the phone or computer software but not sure about directly in the camera. It does have a time shift mode which is like a hyperlapse setting

Thanks for the video, I just got that camera about 2 weeks ago. Love all of your informative videos. I tried to download the presets, they both were downloaded, but when importing in LRC, on an iMac, only the EXT shows up. I tried importing the INT file alone and got message that the presets were imported, but only the EXT shows up. I deleted that preset and downloaded the files from your link again. But, I still get message that the files have been imported. Now I don't have either file available. Any suggestion?

I'm not exactly sure what's going on for you. I downloaded it and reinstalled it on my LR from the .zip file and did not have any issues, but I work off a PC. Supposedly there should be no issues using the Lightroom presets across the two platforms, but I honestly know very little about the backend operations on a MAC 😞

To be completely honest, I'm not entirely sure because I have never tried it. I think not yet, but you can always do a few image trial and I'll do the same next week to see if it works

Sorry, I don't sell anything to my subscribers. All my presets and tutorials are 100% free and not hidden behind some paywall. I charge y'all nothing for the knowledge and only make money from companies who want to get in front of everyone who watches. I personally would prefer to charge companies over the people trying to learn how to make more money. I could have just as easily released some teaser to this video and put the full thing behind a paywall like other creator do, but I am doing my best to get out the information I have at the lowest cost to you.
