Friends and I had a drinking game for Rebel Moon Part 2. Every time there was slowdown, we took a shot. Not even 30 minutes in, we had to up it for every 4 slowdowns, because it was way too much. There was even slowdown of people harvesting fucking grain! We took at least 4 shots in less than 5 minutes, and decided "nope, raise it." That movie could have killed us.

12:05 Omg it's such a betrayal. The original film takes a stance against drugs, not in a shaming the user way but in a way that shows that drugs are used to fund criminal activity at the expense of the lives of kids like Sarah, whose mum is an addict. The scene where he forces the heroin out of Darla's arm and says that iconic quote "mother is the name for God on the lips and hearts of all children" is such an important part of Eric's character.... Then in this 2024 sh*t show they make Eric and Shelley users and glamourise it... Whatever your stance on drugs you have to concede that that is such an insult to the original film

Matt Damon explains this quite well. Essentially because of the death of physical copies of movies (obviously people still collect them and they do exist, but most watch on netflix or w.e) the movie industry has lost a fairly large part of income that was previously almost guaranteed. and so studios now have to make most/all of their money back on a movie in it's initial theater release, and the best way to get people to go see a movie is if it's a sequel/prequel, or otherwise tied to an existing IP. it's why there aren't very many original things these days and so much of it is just bs that nobody cares about.

Lets not forget this year was when the cancel culture lost to Jeremy when he reviewed the movie 'Am I Racist?' A movie many critics avoided because of course the triggered snowflakes will go after people who dare give it a positive review... Jeremy did it with no apology, and of course went after him on Twitter by using old footage of his Black-Face Blade impersonation and of course saying The Marvels was bad. After a week, not only did it fail, but it gained MORE publicity to Jeremy's channel and the director of this movie defended him because he did something that critics were afraid to touch on.

11:35 - There you go, there's a solid idea. Your typical 'revenant comes back exact gory vengance' thing, but their body count is so high that they just make a _ton_ of other vengance-driven revenants hunting _THEM_ in turn...and they repeat the cycle of violence. End result: an army of supernatural killing machines that used to be people cutting, shooting, and exploding their way through the city going after one another. And there's some group of hapeless schmucks (psychics, wizards, and the obligatory good cop/P.I.) who are stuck trying to stop this before more people die. Hell, maybe the crime boss/big bad who started the ball rolling has a change of heart and decides he needs to help stop what he started.

The reason so many movies fail these days is because movie studios are afraid to take risks or make something unique because they’re afraid of offending people, so they just pump out sequels, remakes, live action adaptations etc. movie studios have forgotten what makes good movies good and just play it safe and then wonder why they bomb

Wishing you a very Happy New Year Jeremy!!! AND a BIG thank you for all of the great reviews over the past year that saved my family 40+ hours according to your top 10 worst movies since we skipped every one of them after watching each of your reviews. Yay! Thanks! Right now I can only remember watching 2 movies I'd classify as bad & never watch again... 1) Trap - IMO bad writing with too many holes in the plot. IMO it was M. Night Shyamalan trying to build a story around his daughter's concert... boring. 2) Saturday Night - I grew up watching SNL since the beginning. I was only 8 yrs old but my single mom went out on Saturday nights so I stayed up late to watch it (Chevy Chase was my fav, still is) so I was looking forwrd to this movie. I thought the casting & acting were good, but I was so disgusted by how awful/rude/piggish several of the characters were (poor Jim Henson) I just didn't enjoy it. Lucky for SNL there were no cellphones back then to share their bad behavior on social media.

The worst movie I watched this year was Dear Santa. Kid with dyslexia writes a letter to Santa but spells it Satan. "Satan" Jack Black shows up to grant the kid 3 wishes for his soul. The body of the movie is fine. Nothing to write home about, a generic Christmas adventure. I even laughed at some of the jokes. The ending ruins the entire movie. The whole movie is about this kid and his parents working through their trauma over losing a child. The end of the movie completely undoes all of that. For a cheap joke that didn't land. I don't know if I've ever seen a movie with a worse ending. 1/10

She's got star power and presence, but her ability to emulate American characters and accents is simply chintzy and not convincing. She was amazing and absolutely definitive as Galadriel, but I think it's that she's got a deep voice, and is highly photogenic, but not, like, sex doll youthful pretty, so people view her more as a hotter, younger Meryl Streep for Gen-X/Y, and that's where the expectation shortfall comes. High charisma and watchability; uneven characterization.

The characters were so interesting- seeing someone who trained as a Jedi fall in real time to the dark side would’ve been such a beautiful thing, but disgusting annoying Star Wars dudebro incels couldn’t get over their sexist and racist views. Half the people complaining about the show didn’t even actually watch it and just went based off of other losers giving it negative reviews. Saying it’s one of the worst shows is a crazy stretch.

He’s always been a decent actor. He has charm and charisma ,but the problem is when he’s cast in roles that don’t suit him. School or Rock, Kung Fu panda , Shallow Hal, all good fun movies. Watch him in Jumanji, he’s hilarious. He’s best when he doesn’t play himself. But in recent movies, he doesn’t have a character , he’s just Jack Black. Writers don’t give him much to work with cause they’ve go “he’s Jack Black, he’ll make it work” . His best work is when they write a character for him to expand on

Salem's Lot was such a bummer. It was a great-looking film but everything else fell apart. Thanks to Nosferatu for saving the day.

I know it's seen by many as tacky & disrespectful to do "worst movie" lists especially as so many people worked hard and put so much effort into making films and it's just easy to shit on them, but man movies are a form of art and it's okay to be critical of that. Thanks for doing this - it's normal and okay to express your feelings even if you didn't like something - and sadly a lot of these films aren't made for art but lazily for greed and that needs to be called out. Cheers Jeremy!
