"Less is more" is something the MCU needs to apply to its action climaxes. The craziest action sequence that worked best for me is Thanos vs the Iron-Man, Spider-Man, Dr Strange & the Guardians because it felt more personal and even though it went to crazy levels it was well executed. The final epic battle at the climax of Endgame was not very interesting altogether, the way it ended with "I am Iron-Man" landed but the battle as a whole wasn't very engaging. The MCU sometimes goes too far in the extreme with the action and loses my engagement, they have to refine that and nail it each time, and by now they really should already be at this level.

I liked the Endgame finale except for the part where all the female characters just happened to end up in the same place at the same time right when one of them gets the stones. nah, it's always a generic story that's used to sell more. cgi battles appeal to a large portion of the audience and they cover this action with a worn-out theme. it's nothing new and is super polished to make sure it's not gonna create any controversies or moral dilemmas. bad guys are shallow business men, good guys sometimes fall but always get up thanks to their friends and family, it's not even hard to guess the plot from the opening scene. this is not real life, this is how you would want it'd be. and therefore it's not human either, it's too basic for that. it's just designed to make humans satisfied, cause if they told something more real you'd probably be disturbed.

THERE ARE CLEVER WAYS to do fight scenes....and then there are the LAZIEST CLICHES POSSIBLE, like throwing fists. Cap vs Iron Man? MORONIC. Cap is just PUNCHING A METAL SUIT!! IDIOTS, all of them! (My Batman re-invention has him with BRASS KNUCKLES BUILT INTO HIS GLOVES, so at least he only has to throw ONE punch and he NEVER hurts his knuckles, duh. Truth be told I still idolize him. I started taking martial arts as a kid because I loved Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, and Jet Li films so much. Everyone is so concerned with representation now they forget that they should want to entertain us first, they try to smother us with whatever message they want to regurgitate and it doesn't matter if the film is good or not. I'm not saying this film is going to suck, I mean it's a marvel film so it will at the very least be entertaining, but representation doesn't automatically make it great and it shouldn't. We shouldn't give things a pass just because they check a metaphorical box that covers topics in the zeitgeist. And this isn't to say Hollywood shouldn't care at all about representation, it just shouldn't be the top concern, before good storytelling and character development. I loved spider-man as a kid, still my favorite super hero and I am Peruvian. I never needed Spider-Man to be Peruvian or even Latino of any sort, I still loved him and found him relatable. As an immigrant who has been living in the US for almost my entire life now, I can honestly say that I have never felt under represented. I brought my culture with me and was surrounded by it growing up, I never needed Hollywood or entertainment in general to tell me I existed.

This is what happens when you get talented actors who can actually perform their own fight scenes rather than pretty boys who rely on stunt men to do thier fight scenes, and the director making 100 cuts and zooming all the way in and shaking the camera so we as audience can't tell that it is the stunt person.

A lot of these huge climaxes I end up kind of checking out mentally. When everything flying around the screen is CGI and the fighting goes beyond unrealistic, it’s usually just a matter of time until it resolves itself and there’s therefore not really any stakes.
@realxjosh82983 жыл бұрын
Spoiler No stakes? I could've sworn multiple Avengers died in the last two movies. Its a comic book movie bruh a lot of the fun is how insane and unrealistic it is. Its a bunch of aliens and people with superpowers fighting each other.

And I am most definitely sure that you do NOT want to be compared to someone like Patrick. Seriously though, writing off the MCU movies as a "bunch of aliens and people with superpowers fighting each other" is doing a disservice to the character writing and potential for storytelling that these movies can have, especially considering that the 1st and 2nd phase MCU movies focused heavily on character moments and story consistency; they were more than just a bunch of aliens and people fighting one another. Compared to the earlier MCU movies, the latest MCU stuff don't hold a candle at all.

I’m conflicted. On the one hand, I totally understand/desire keeping the ending small scale. @StuCheeks3 жыл бұрын
Same reason I feel the fight against Thanos on Titan in Infinity War is one of the best fight scenes in the entire MCU. It was much more focused, which is impressive considering how many characters were involved, but that was part of its intensity since Thanos was such a threat. The big war battle in Endgame was cool for spectacle, but it was just a collection of clips that didn't really flow well. The smaller fight against Thanos right before that was much more engaging.

This is renowned Hong Kong film actor Tony Chiu-Wai Leung's first role in an American film and his first English-speaking role, even though he has always spoken it fluently. The symbols in the Ten Rings logo are Chinese characters: "quan" (authority), "li" (power), "zhuang" (strong), "wei" (extraordinary), "jie" (outstanding), "shi" (influential), "hong" (grand), "xiong" (mighty), qiang" (strength) and "wei" (dominant). Wenwu is named after the Chinese dual concept of wen (civil administration) and wu (martial administration) This is Simu Liu's first lead role in a film, having previously had supporting roles in his career. The filmmakers cite Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000), Kung Fu Hustle (2004), Tai Chi Master (1993), the The Matrix (1999) series, Donnie Yen's "Ip Man" films and Jackie Chan films as an influence on the martial arts action. Michelle Yeoh starred in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000) Shang-Chi is the first superhero film with an Asian leading protagonist for Marvel Studios This movie was going to be made by Paramount Pictures before Disney bought Marvel. In Xialing's room there is an AC/DC poster implying she is a fan of the band. AC/DC songs are well-known to be part of the Iron Man (2008)'s soundtrack as well the sequels. First film by Destin Daniel Cretton to have a predominantly Asian cast. Highest-grossing film of Destin Daniel Cretton's career. Films mentioned during the commentary recording include The 36th chamber of Shaolin (1978), Clueless (1995), Rush Hour (1998), The Matrix (1999), Kung Fu Hustle (2004), Scott Pilgrim vs The World (2010), Oldboy (2013) The Five Obstructions (2003). This is Mark Ruffalo's eighth appearance in the MCU, three of them only in post-credit scenes: Iron Man 3 (2013), Captain Marvel (2019) and this movie. Shang-Chi (and his mother) uses soft martial arts, such as taiji quan, to counter hard martial arts, such as Kung fu against his father. This is a classic dispute in old-school Hong Kong Kung fu movies. The movie marks the return of Ben Kingsley as Trevor Slattery, after his appearance in Iron Man 3 (2013) and the short Marvel One-Shot: All Hail the King (2014). In addition, it reveals his fate after the short, which ended in a cliffhanger.
