10:51 Whether it was intentional or not, it pleases how Lupin's walking speed and the distribution of the dots match the rhythm of the background music

I randomly selected two videos from the game boy world playlist and got the amazing coincidence of watching the lupin the third video and then this immediately after.

I love this game, spents hours on the very last level (in the extra game) and it drove me to frustration but was so rewarding to beat. Absolutely fantastic game, solid visuals and music. Love the little gags with him exiting the banks on each stage

Data East had this odd period of good games for the Gameboy, this and Burger Time Deluxe are excellent.

This is one of the many lesser-known Game Boy games I nabbed when 3DS Virtual Console was a thing. Enjoyed the couple of hours I spent on it.

You say it's not on that many "favorite" lists but if I had to pick GameBoy games you couldn't pry out of my cold dead hands, Lock 'n Chase and Mr. Do! would be right near the top.

I'd love a list of games that totally change up for the last level. Fascinating little idiosyncrasy. Didn't you or Bob ask Ron gilbert about why so many adventure games last puzzle switch it up? To give the player an unexpected bit as it wraps up? Does Kid Icarus win in this behavior? Loved the lock n chase cut scenes as kid. Never beat it, so that sokobon level was a surprise. Looking forward to Great Greed!

Great episode, but I believe your claim that cassettes are "..the world's most fragile & unreliable data distribution format..." is incorrect. I still have cassettes from the early 80s which play fine. When cassette tape breaks or rips, it is often the fault of the tape head / player instead of the tape. Magnetic tape itself is a wonderfully durable data format. Minor grievance aside, Game Boy World continues to be an inspiration - thank you Jeremy!

Allen Mozek according to HG101 theres i only ONE Deco system functioning now...
@thegouldfish6 жыл бұрын
Not all games were multiload on the ZX Spectrum or the C64 (people tend to forget that it was also loaded games of cassettes), they too just loaded the whole thing into memory then ran. there was even hardware to read the memory to take snapshots and allow you to load them quicker.
@Suedeash4 жыл бұрын
absolutely tape is more than sturdy enough, you just need to clean your devices regularly as you say
@allenmozek14 жыл бұрын
@@gabrieleriva651 I was simply speaking to the durability of the cassette medium itself. I’m not personally familiar with the Deco, so my point wasn’t directed at that in particular.

Definitely one of my fav pac man derivatives (the other being Pepper II). I have to admit that it does look slower paced than the original, but seems as if the new options make up for the lack of speed. That BGM sounds great though.
@pinmike86669 жыл бұрын
Pepper II itself is a clone of Amidar, which was made by Konami; It's also similar to Crush Roller, which I'm not sure if that came before or after Amidar. Awesome game, though, and one of my personal favorite Colecovision games.

the government of this town really needs to increase the police budget. the cops are so unmotivated that they take naps on duty; the cops are woefully under-equipped (no tasers? no skeleton keys to open barriers?!). and honestly, the citizens carelessly letting their coins and diamonds out of their sight are not much more responsible.

O happen to have a copy of that game for the gameboy but is not by DATA EAST it says SUNSOFT is this a revision of the game made by sunsoft themselves later on? Anybody know anything? Is this revision of the game rare?
@JeremyParish5 жыл бұрын
Carlos Cruz For some reason, SunSoft reissued a bunch of GB games from other publishers in the late ‘90s including the Final Fantasy games. You’ve basically got a second printing. Same game though.

To my knowledge there's no meaningful price difference between original and SunSoft reissues for GB. I don't think most collectors care all that much.
