It is awesome how the music in the Fleetwood Mac version on Say You Will kind of sounds like they went back to this version for some reference. It sounds nothing like the unreleased final version (with Lindsey) on the TISL acetate.

My story with this demo: It was 2001 and I heard the Trouble In Shangri-La demos not long after the album was released. I instantly fell in love with this demo. To me, it stood out a lot compared to some of the others. I knew it was about Lindsey even before she talked about it in the Destiny Rules documentary in 2003. I also remember hearing the "Wall Of Sound" version with Lindsey first in late 2002, (long before the AOL "single" release they did weeks prior to the official release of SYW) and being confused LOL. A lot of fans thought that the one with Lindsey would be on Say You Will. Wrong! 😂

This is my favorite Stevie Nicks song of all time and this is my first time hearing this version. I love hearing how this song has morphed so many times.

Definitely my favorite track off SYW and this my fave demo version. I like the "Wall of Sound" version but it's too frantic or something. Love this vibe.

That TISL version with Lindsey has a lot of production to it that covers up the essence of the subject material in the lyrics

Where did the ‘you do what you want to’ line come into the demos?

I think I'm the fifth view, and I liked it, too (you sure hope I did :P)!

Of course I like it. In some ways it’s a very different song - because it is. But I prefer the refinement Fleetwood Mac did with it. I usually think Stevie demos are better but not in this case

@@MarkStClair1 I agree; this version is nice, and I adore pretty much all of Stevie's demos, but the released version has that cool thing with the guitar that just gets me every time.

There's always one person who gives my videos a thumbs down. It must be terrible being a hateful person.
