Nice to watch your visit to the Philly guitarshow...as you mentioned kind a overwhelming...wouldn't know if an acoustic guitar will sound in that surrounding. At least you've tried. Thx again..greetings from the Netherlands

We have a guitar show at the Oakdale in Wallingford, they have a separate room for boutique acoustic guitars and it is not so noisy 😉

Next year, as it is in October every year, you should try to make it to Arlington, TX for their show. It's amazing and I used to go every year and have gotten many way cool guitars there. Worth the trip. Never been to the Philly show but it looked very good too.

They had the Asheville show this year. I went to it, it was pretty cool, kind low key didn't seem like as many people there but was still good. The one for next year in Asheville is already scheduled, I will be there for sure.

Love seeing a Chet Atkins SST. Don't see them often.

Have you ever seen either model from the Americana Series that was the short lived replacement for the SST?

I realise they may not really be your thing but did you try out any Reverend guitars? They are just fantastic.

I fucking live in Philly, am pretty connected with musicians and the scene, and didn’t hear about this.

An event like this with those sort of acoustics, and the noise from other people, is not a great place to try out an acoustic guitar. It was pretty funny that the $40,000 D-28 was out on a table but some of the less expensive electric guitars were under glass at other booths. Great video on another guitar show I didn't hear about.

You should have picked up that 1940 D-28. :)
@williamnichols62532 жыл бұрын
lol I was at that show... I remember 40% of the stuff was Les Pauls that looked exactly the same to me. Another 35% was stats and tele's that looked the same, but not as much the same. The coolest thing for me was the old amps. I almost bought this Princeton brown face, The label just said "dirty rat", I think about that amp all the time.

Oh yeah. It's pretty hopeless to hear a guitar. If I was shopping or considering buying, I'd need to leave the hall and get some privacy.

Not easy to tell from a video but it does seem like there’s gonna be a bunch of vintage acoustics that are probably only still good in looks.

Vintage guitars are a minefield that I would stay clear off unless you have decent knowledge. Old/vintage doesn’t at all mean there all good.

I thought that the corporate lawyer guitar player was just a made up thing- you know…”who buys a 7-15,000$ Gibson”
