Great presentation! Autocad is so much more difficult to get thing right in space than SolidWorks.

Jeremy, at 8:20 when you're talking about raising the smaller box, do you mean raising it further up the z plane? or do you mean keeping the z position while moving it up on the positive y axis? i keep on rewinding again and again to this part and still find myself confused, please respond.

Raise it in the Z axis direction. "Raise" means to lift off the ground.... the ground is the XY plane in typical UCS, so to lift something off z=0 would be to change its location in the XZ plane or YZ plane.

KZbin won't let me post a URL here to link to Autodesk's website for the system requirements of AutoCAD, but that's the best option to compare your computer specs. Make sure to look at the correct one in terms of 32 bit/64 bit and version 2012/2011/etc.

I found this very helpful, thank you. I just had one question - is there a difference between a closed surface and a solid? if close a surface off does autocad automatically change its property from surface to solid?
@jeremyfranklin26319 жыл бұрын
+Ian Murphy Yes, surfaces and solids are different, like comparing a hollow shell vs a solid object. No, AutoCAD will not automatically convert because they are different object types.
