The triple lock was designed to protect our paltry state pension from the ever rising cost of living and is paid retrospectively. For Starmer to say the forthcoming state pension increase is greater than the winter fuel allowance is nonsense. We are just about standing still currently.

It is annoying that someone always trots out that they know a very well-off person but no one seems to hardly mention the very poor and vulnerable pensioners who will struggle and find great hardship. If you have only a couple of pounds or so over the pension credit eligibility. Then you won't get a winter fuel allowance, --- but you will still freeze in a hard winter. Labour will be held responsible for what happens next should there be a bad winter. They won't get a second term in office.

So the old will get just under fiver a week in real terms over 12 months this vote is simply a smoke screen to take the pressure of Starmer. Can I also point out that I have already got notice that the cost of my fuel is going up by £160 a year . What they should have done is created an opt out system for those who want to not except it. The loss of the £200 add the £160 making a loss of £360 so the possible £400 increase will give me a pay rise of £40 a year. So that lady will be ok so she doesn’t think that others should

The person I think her name is Pat you are on pension credit ehich means you get everything like Dentist and optitions you don’t have to worry about the cost I know people on Pension credit and disabledment get more money than i do I only get £11,500 from the stat which equates to £212.65 plus a very small pension that you husband paid for
