Breakfast clubs are great if you need to get to work in the morning then you can drop them off a little bit early.

If we dont want to pay for kids to eat why should those kids grow up to pay our pensions? Contributions go both ways. You let them eat. They let you live longer.

No parent should have to pay for Breakfast Clubs due to the amount of poverty most families are experiencing due to the cost of living. What does that old dragon Ann Widdecombe know about parenting and the financial pressures especially for parents particularly single parents on Benefit , the Benefit Level is only subsitence level, Ann Widdecombe needs to know, acknowledge and realise this.

Breakfast clubs help to create a level playing field for all the children born in this Country and by the way Ann Widdecombe you claim to be pro life due to your religious beliefs , but once children are born you don't want to help cash strapped families, that doesn't seem very Christian to me! By the way, I'm not Anti Christian, I was brought up a Devout Catholic like you were

@@misssparkle8317 No you pay your parents pension, your children pay for yours. That's how the system works. If you don't believe me Google it

So we can subsidise MP’s meals in parliament (I’m sure Anne has stuffed her face on many free meals in her day) but we can’t give kids some toast and a bowl of rice crispies.

@ I have chosen never to have kids because the cost and I enjoy my rest and holidays. However children growing up in poverty should be treated kindly.

School breakfast clubs are mostly used by working parents. It’s because most parents need to be at work for a certain time. My husbands work won’t allow him to take our daughter to school because they want him in for 8am and no later. Luckily I can take her to school but the majority of people I see on the school run are grandparents.

Exactly for working parents who should pay. Taxpayers shouldn’t be feeding others kids.

If you want parents to work how are they gonna find time to feed before school. If you want parents to stay home, then how can they go out and work. Having the resource there is only a benefit. We aren't American. This "us vs the world" attitude is a bad one.

If its the parents solely responsible for their kids why is the country expected to rally around the elderly? Surely they should be taken care of by their family? If you dont have any should have had kids? This is a ridiculous rhetoric.

@Rickolsen247 a person growing old knows exactly what they need to do as they age. A child is at the mercy of their parents. One is more at risk than the other. If you make children responsibility of the parents then why should any of us be responsible for anyone not related to us?

Because kids have parents who bought them into the world, the elderly might be the last surviving member of there family, plus the elderly have paid tax all there lives, how much tax has a child paid??? Think before u leave a silly comment

Seriously could not believe that woman made her husband have the snip!! How selfish is she? what if they split up and he wants kids with someone else, if she has made that decision good for her, but do not expect your partner to take such dramatic measures, be responsible yourself!! I made up my mind years ago from the age of 17 i did not want children, and i have never changed it in over 35 years, so i took responsibility for that, would not dream of asking any partner to get to snip, found that very strange!!
