One night in February of 1982, rural Georgia police got a disturbing 911 call from a mother in panic. Her 16 year old son Thomas had just been brutally stabbed to death while he was asleep in bed. When Georgia dispatch showed up to the grisly scene, they discovered the teenager had been murdered by his 14 year old sister, Rachel and she was nowhere to be found.
And we later found out, she didn't only intend of killing her brother that night.. she also had plans of killing her parents but because of the screams of her brother as he was being stabbed to death, she panicked, dropped the knife and escaped out the back door and ran into the woods.
So a little bit about Rachel, she seemed like a normal 14 year kid, she made decent grades in school, she was quiet, but from the outside looking in, nothing seemed out of the ordinary
BUT According to interviews with Rachel's siblings, she was very troubled from an early age, she didn't really have any friends, and she spent most her time alone in her room
but as she got older, Rachel became more and more reclusive and it was around this time, she developed a fascination with Satanic worship and began practicing satanic rituals in her bedroom, right next to her brother Thomas' room. And to this day, her parents blame the murder solely on Rachel's Satanic practices.
HOWEVER the plot to this story gets even thicker… check this out-
in later interviews with 2 of Rachel's siblings, they introduced new details to this story that paints a much broader picture of what might have truly been going on the household. They claim that from the age of 7, Rachel along with her younger sister was being molested and abused by Thomas
But that's not all
Allegedly, Rachel's FATHER, had also been molesting the two girls. Her father of course denies these claims and says that the devil made Rachel do it and not perhaps years of sexual, emotional, and physical torment she had to endure before she finally snapped and devised a plan to murder her own brother and parents.
During the very brief investigation and court proceeding Rachel's story of what happened to her as a child matched perfectly with what her two siblings claimed… nevertheless, she was giving a harsh sentencing to 28 years in a mental facility in Florida.
Apparently after the murder, the family moved pretty from the small Georgia town and never really looked back… understandably so. But here's another kicker- they left everything inside the 1884 home and they didn't sell it either. Grant it, I imagine it'd be a tough sell considering what happened there.

Oh my God I remember that like it was yesterday. She was 16 years old pregnant with twins. They found her in a motel room I don't remember if she was with her brother at the time or she was with another man and she had her cat with her. She would not go anywhere without that cat because that was her life. That was a very sad day in 1982. I don't know what happened to her children.

back when this hour was built, the kithen was seperated from the main living space by a breaze way - hence the inclosure of what would have been a porch conecting the two areas of the house. This was done to keep the heat out of the main part of the house during the summer in southern homes.

There’s a lot of strange things about this video. I’m amazed at the lack of mold, dust and decay in a 40 year old abandoned house. And the tv is also very old for 1982. I know black and white tv’s were still around and many places still felt like the 1940’s, but it’s worth pointing out. I was born in the late 70’s and growing up you could still feel the presence of the earlier decades - the 40’s, even the 30’s and earlier in some places. Time moved so much slower and consume electronics and technology were fairly stagnant. People had tube tv’s, cable was brand new so that was a luxury, my grandparents had old furniture dating back to the 19th century - it was just different. The ‘modern age’ as I refer to it didn’t start until 1988 or so. That’s when cd’s, newer looking cars and tv’s, etc became more common. Kind of a microcosm of the way progress was very slow prior to the 20th century, and then suddenly the world was completely changed.

Your summation of the video, and the tracking of time, is beautifully stated. I was born in 1965, and, while I had parents who loved me, they were not very good parents. I come from a violent background, that said, this video resonated much of what I experienced, murder aside. My childhood was a battlefield and time moved slowly. What you said about the shifting of the era is so true, but I would take it a little further back to about 1985. That’s about the time when the glitz and aerobic fitness craze that marked the’80’s came upon us. Even so, I agree with you that everything after 1988 would seem to move as if it were an HG Wells novel. We are living in a age now, in which, fashion and design borrows from times long since past.

Many States have laws that pertain to abandoned structures, that after a certain amount of years, and if the front and rear doors are not secured , no maintained or any attention for that matter will deem a house or building abandoned and pretty much finders keepers, and also there are ton's of back property taxes owed to the county of said property, and the counties are not interested in the contents of the building, , I am sure they could have back in the day found a buyer, specially for a low price, there is a market for everyone, but now the county most likely will just level the home and all its contents into a big hole that's what usually happens to make room for future condos or of the like, emanate domain will kick in, it happened recently in my town dozens of old farm houses with no one claiming the properties where leveled to make room for a new highway, I explored some of these homes of which also contained all furnishings and belongings of former tenants all leveled and put into big holes, again EMANATE DOMAIN so that is usually the fate of a lot of these old homes, in the case of this house any families' can of course come and take any of things if any one is still alive, but it's not like anyone is going to make a Police report of theft of anything taken from this house I know this is long winded but it owes explanation I am a retired LEO, so I know a little about the subject, and also if there are no , NO TRESSPASSING signs posted that matters as well, Police just don't want usually a bunch of kids hanging out there where they could get hurt in a decaying structure .

I'm a new viewer of your videos and have truly enjoyed them. This one truly resonated with me being an older person; it could have very well been the home I grew up in. The art work you were curious about was very common in the 70s- hand crafts were VERY popular. Macrame, ceramics, etc and was found in almost every home. The folded flag you found in the dresser drawer is what is presented to the family of a person in service upon death at their funeral. I still have the one presented to Mama when Daddy died and it will be handed down to my son. The cabinet in the bathroom you admired is a French style vanity and the gold on it is referred to as 'gilding'. That was a symbol of craftmanship and status to have gilded items. You can tell older things were made with craftsmanship, made with quality to last. Even electronics like the tvs. We had repairmen who would come out and repair our tv rather than throw it away and buy another. That was true of most everything we bought and owned and, honestly, I long for those times again. We took pride in what we owned, saving to purchase, taking our time picking items out based on how long it would last, could it have multiple uses, etc. I hope the younger generations will try some kind of craft whether it be wood working, ceramics, whatever, and start this trend again and get us away from a throw away society. It's a wonderful feeling making something with your hands; knowing you are contributing something of beauty and use to the world. I have to admit, while watching your videos I do correct you on some things but that's just because I have a number of years on you so I'm familair with so many things that cross your paths. Keep exploring and sharing your adventures and finds with us. Wishing you many more blessings

The little plastic "phone" on the wall, next to the stove is a transistor radio that's made to look like an early crank phone... I remember my aunt having one similar in her kitchen... I think you could buy them out of the old Harriet Carter catalog. The military themed stuff (muzzle loader rifles, parchment scrolls, drums, eagles, etc) was really popular as decor around 1976, which of course was the American Bicentennial. As far as that blue upstairs room is concerned, I personally don't think it was ever a "boys room", what with the frilly curtains and fancy knick knacks here and there. With "exploring" being such a big deal over the last few years... It's sad that people have had to "stage" those abandoned places for pictures. I'd like to spend a night on the property and run a digital recorder... I wonder if it'd pick anything up?

Ask I'm watching the video. I also noticed the stablins to the doll those were not there 5 months ago. So many things are the broken or missing since then. How quickly people going into that property and change it. It's really sad it should have stayed the way it was.

I've only seen 1 other explore it and post it on his channel. He did say he felt uneasy in this house just because of what little he knew. But this is the most thoroughly researched background on one I've seen. My first or 3nd time to see this explorer's version. Like them all. If I could do this I'd would be doing all kinds of research on it and talk to neighbors and just get various people input.

I can almost guarantee this house was NOT ABANDONNED 40 years ago. Most videos with titles stating "abandonned" are WRONG. Rarely do people "abandon" their property....in these cases, owners must be ALIVE & simply give up on OWNING it. If they are still alive & it was TAKEN AWAY via failure to maintain or tax reasons........that is NOT abandonment rather, it's aquisition by a government sector. This home, as most in these EXPLORE videos have simply been BOUGHT, inherited, or NEGLECTED. If BOUGHT or inherited & rarely utilized as a HOME to be lived in by the owners, it's most often used as STORAGE!! Yes....STORAGE & that's all! NO grand back story on owners merely getting up & suddenly LEAVING NEVER TO RETURN! That is so RARE!! Yes, there indeed are intriguing stories within families while residing in these homes but again....most back stories on these properties are as follows: Owners in assisted living, death with NO inheritors, failure to pay taxes resulting on acquisition by government or pending legal disputes......👉 abandonnedment is RARE!!

Most of their furniture and furnishings are from the 70s. The wine barrel kitchen set was very early 70s. Seventies also did have a few years when Victorian retro was "in". The dark red couch you said was in perfect condition did look very much earlier than the 70s. You asked thoughts as to whether the family starting moving stuff out. If the family ran from this horrible situation, don't see them having the steam to move furniture. The molesters just wanna get outta Dodge STAT and the other family members are traumatized and just going through the motions of living. So, I think it was either relatives that went back or more likely ransackers who know no one's going to suddenly show up and catch them so they can take their time to move items closer to the door and come back when convenient. Chinese mottifs were very popular also in the 70s. Black or red-mahogany lacquered. The towel with the hand holding the flowers was a reproduction of the famous Picasso print. Also, popular in the 70s. (I grew up in the 70.)

I don't believe his story about the house being abandoned for 40 odd years because, for among other things, the lack of dust, mold & general decay... whoever owns it visits, tends to it fairly regularly ....some rooms were spotlessly tidy...the vast amount of disparate furniture...often in pristine condition..the house is obviously being used for storage and looked after....not buried in the woods.

When you were walking up to this big house I thought wow it's all hidden away. I like it when nature takes over and reclaims her territory. One part of the furniture you called wicker is really called rattan, it's round wood where wicker is flat. FYI I think all the woodworking and staircase was awesome 👌. But for me when you went out on that unusual porch that pretty much talked to me, I loved it and the sunshine coming through was warming. I could see me reading a book or doing some artwork, boy! Would I like to have a porch like that. Now one last thing there have been times when people worship the darkness they seem to bring something in that's negative or evil. And I have read there are times they leave their house and everything in it because they are afraid of bringing it with them. And they don't sell their house because they don't want other people to have to deal with it. Now I am not saying this is the case just referring to books I have read about other people. Oh, I was wondering whatever happened to this young girl after she served her time in the mental institution? I think the whole senerio is so sad 😞. But thank you for your wonderful explore Jeremy 😊

The Bicentennial was in 1976, and everyone started decorating with the reds and blues with flags, drums and muzzleloader rifles. And somehow the Spanish influence became part of it. As random as it looks now, it was really big in the 70's and 80's.

NOT that it is impossible, but I don't see anything that strongly supports the Story that the daughter was practicing satanic rituals besides the 2 pieces of flowery artwork with 2 up-side down crosses on the wall. My feel is that the Story is made up or exaggerated to build a devilish history about the family and the house. Yes, the artwork may or may not have been the daughter, however, because I suspect squatters have been living there; it could have been left by them. Also, the children's room is too clean and orderly and must have been staged by someone because the rest of the house is filthy and packed with junk and antiques. Normally, people involved in witchcraft would have tools such as black candles, drawn symbols, idols, books, plants etc., to indicate he or she is practicing satanism. IF the little girl was practicing satanism she would have had access to occult tools during the 80s. Lastly, there are no religious items reflecting which religion they were affiliated with? In my opinion based on the quantity and duplications of chairs and sofas etc.; this tells me that mansion had been used as storage for a period and then eventually abandoned. NOTE: Neither the children nor the parents made those beds. As you stated, they fled the house as soon as they were able. So, if the parents didn't make those beds who did? And why cleanup the bedrooms and not the rest of the house?

The Georgia police have confirmed the story is fabricated. Those inverted crucifixes on the wall have just been turned upside down. This guy should be held accountable for making up stories about abuse for views - especially when this house is currently for sale.

I have seen just one other house that was in lower Michigan that had a sink in a bedroom. That is so strange to have a sink in a bedroom. At least, I think so. The artist’s name who painted the dark eyed children was Margaret D. H. Keane (born Peggy Doris Hawkins) a very famous artist.

I have seen someone else do this mansion, and I appreciate the fact that you dig in and do the whole backstory. I truly believe that the girl was not into satanic rituals, because if you look at the wall hangings, they don’t necessarily look like upside down crosses. that could be a style of art, that would hold flowers or some thing else. I can’t remember what the style of art was called. The dark eyed children pictures on the walls of the boy were very popular in the 60s, along with a big eyed cat. I truly think that the reason you don’t get any bad vibes in this house, because The child was abused by her father and her brother because that was something common in that period of time in the south. I really appreciate the way you bring us the story and your style of exploring! Geez, I would love to have this house. The random sinks in the room seem to be something from the French or European countries. I bet this family was well traveled or at least whoever designed the mansion. I would love to bring it back to life!

I had heard that this was their country / vacation home. That would explain why it was so depersonalized. Maybe the other furniture was from their main home in Atlanta or some other city. The sinks in the bedrooms. You see that more in Europe than in the US. It was so they could brush their teeth etc. before going to bed. Ladies might remove makeup etc. There is another explorer who did a video on this house. Yours is better by the way.

It did have the feel of a vocation home about it. Also, the only satanic thing we saw were the upside crosses but anyone walking around that house could of done that. I've tried to research the story and come up with nothing at all.

That many years ago the community would have been a lot smaller. Because of the family having to deal with what the girl did, they felt driven to disappear. I could almost feel their shame, fear and probably couldn't wait to leave. Maybe that is why all those things were left behind.

I don't think it's a mansion. I think it's a farmhouse. The style is exactly like my grandparents house.

The old telephone is actually a transistor radio made to look like an old phone. Also, under the staircase is usually a storage area. Sometimes entry is through a hidden door or panel. You need to go back and check it out, just for me!😄
