Jerkbait Fishing for Bass in my Jon Boat (Conquered the COLD Front)

A jerkbait can be a great tool for fishing post frontal conditions. I don't get to work a jerkbait much from the shore, but that's where my Jon DEBOat comes in handy. I was able to locate the fish that had moved slightly deeper. The erratic stop-and-go motion of a suspending jerkbait allowed me to catch a number of fish. Fishing from a Jon boat also allows you to get out snags! Thank you for watching feeshin friends!

Yeah, mess around with the retrieve. Once the water warms up you can pop it all the way back. With the suspended jerkbait it will come to a dead stop. That's often when they smack it!

Debo, I usually watch fishing videos to learn something, not to just watch people fish, but I'll have to admit watching you have a great day on the water is inspirational. We have had some lousy weather here in MI and the bite has not been great. What did I learn? 1. If you're thinking about it just go! 2. Try different baits and even different colors. 3. Try shallow and try deep. 4. You need a bigger anchor. Love your vids bro!

Good, good day!!!! Once it starts ain't no way we can walk away! I had never thrown a jerk bait before so I bought one of Walmart's Ozark Trails jerks. Took it to a pond and they could not get enough!!! So fun. I have bought the 6th Sense Provoke but have not fished it yet. Hopefully, tomorrow after work!

Jerkbaits has been my best lure so far this year. Before this year ive had no luck on the jerkbait. Loaded up on a few vision 110s and flashpointers. My go to jerkbaits. Also got me a MB destroyer 110 special because the bite has been awesome.

Just a pointer. If you say “Boom goes the dynamite “ during the hook set they never get off. A high kick is needed for the larger fish every now and then.

The Provoke was the first Jerkbait I got to really use and I love using it now! Glad to see you out in a boat, fun to mix it up every once in a while. Joke about that sunfish hitting the Jerk, I caught 3 crappie back to back on mine, all just under 1lb. I was surprised. My yak should be delivered Monday and I am pumped to go hit the water!!!!

Hey, at the end of the day you don't need to catch 25lbs in 3 fish to have a good day. Them dinks'll do just fine. Also did you notice the one you caught on your hand paint seemed to hit it higher towards that red bill. Interesting.

I have yet to catch a fish on the jerk bait. How deep was it where you were fishing?

It's a fast drop off from a couple feet to about 10 feet . My boat was probably at 16 feet.
