Hi Jeroen, I was wincing at every icy step 😁. I used to love that snowy / icy environment but the older and less agile I get, the more wary I have become. Fortunately (or not) we rarely get snow and ice here in Pembrokeshire. Bullfinches are one of my bogey birds. Absolutely gorgeous birds but I never seem to be in the right place at the right time although I did finally manage to capture a couple of half tidy images at the end of November last year. It would be great if you could get to see a Lynx. I don't know if you have already seen any of his videos but take a look at a Norwegian KZbinr, Alfred Lucas. Has managed to get some great Lynx images. Take care and all the best.

Haha it was very slippy indeed. You spotted that well Robert :D Stay tuned for that lynx.... (just don't expect great photos unfortunately). I will check Lucas out! Have a great weekend Robert!

I love this kind of wildlife hunting. Patience is key and low expectations. Always take enjoyment from being out in nature. I really like the high contrast shot.

Loved those bullfinches, even a female! Nice to see you using the thermal camera again as I thought you’d given up on it. I got myself one after your first video using it but haven’t had much opportunity to try it out yet. Thanks for another great video Jeroen 🐇 😀

I use it quite often! It's a big help finding wildlife hidden in high grass. Or birds hidden between branches. Used it to try and find owls too. But unfortunately did not find any...

Something I have always believed is the best time to see nocturnal mammals is in the summer when breeding pressure and short nights force them to be more diurnal. When nights are sixteen hours long they have plenty of time to hunt without taking risks. Great video as always. Your enthusiasm is infectious. :)

Very true! In the summer I will return to Sweden. Hoping to see more mammals then this trip. But, there are three more winter vlogs from Sweden coming up... Who knows what surprises will show up ;)

Patience paid off Jeroen 👍. We get a few Crossbills around here occasionally but not seen on myself yet. Great video. Cheers Keith

They're quite hard to find as they are almost always in the top of those trees... Thanks again Keith!

I love seeing what’s on other people’s patch, what’s common in the UK maybe very unusual elsewhere. I get Siskin on my feeders 3m ( 10ft ) from my back door. We had Bullfinch in our old house, 2 pair used to come in to the garden which was only 3m wide by 6m long ( 10ft x 20ft ), they’re my favourite bird. Crossbills, now there’s another thing altogether, very difficult to see never mind photograph. You did well to get any shot of them.

Thanks Cerealkiller! Very true. A few hundred km's can make a big difference even.... Siskins and bullfinches are very beautiful birds. You're lucky to have them so close!

Just received a Camera Trap to review ! Just a basic model ! I will do a giveaway after review because I don't have much use for one tending to do known accessible wildlife ! But it is good to see one put to good use ! I was lucky to get the Crossbill in the New Forest near me last year ! The fun with Crossbill is waiting for them coming down to drink otherwise they tend to stay high in the trees ! Good work Jeroen nice vlog ! 👍😍

Although the compositions are not what one would hope, I like them better as those totally controlled with a perch. Walking around its always the question what you come across. But I liked the Bullfinches. Ik hoop ze ook te zien komende tijd in de weerribben:-).
