For anyone who doesn't understand: This is specialized hauling for Southern Pride Trucking. Probably jet engines. Light loads and long turn around times. This is how they can get away with the weight of such a big sleeper. They will want a big sleeper and their Harley with them while they wait 4 days somewhere for the freight to be ready to haul. Also they probably make $300k+ per year so they can afford a truck like this.

That being said, I would DIE just to spend a few weeks in that beautiful rig above. I'd wait for days or longer for a load. But while I was waiting oh oh oh. Maybe spend a day or two out on the Harley. Maybe stretch out and watch a little little Dish while momma makes a nice dinner. Who needs a load? In reality the only thing shown is ignorance and in several cases stupidity. If you are a truck driver, not glorified steering wheel holder with a CDL ... you know each truck has a purpose. These trucks serve a very specific purpose for very specific customers with very specific demands. The people required to operate under these conditions know what they are doing and get this ... they are very detail oriented and intelligent and cream of the crop or they wouldn't have their career very long. You obviously don't have any bends in your roads anywhere in the US? And I really love the hassle free bike loading ramp which doesn't meet the ground and needs separate ramps put on the floor.

With just a little more thought and engineering, the motorcycle lift could have been designed to not need you to assemble that little ramp before using.
@brownsfan64476 жыл бұрын
Eric DLC you mean just make a basic ramp right? No need for electric motors. All you really need is a flat surface...

Think its hard to turn corners when the trailers connected?
@kirrus47815 жыл бұрын
It sure is... I think is more of an otr truck. Is to big for the city for the reason you mentioned. I sometimes have a hard time with my day cab and the 53' making some corners in L.A.
@melvinpeachey69635 жыл бұрын
Actually it's not as hard to make turns with that truck than it is with a 265 wheel base. Believe it or not it's true. I worked in the oil field and my buddy had a 310 wheel base kw long hood and he could cut corners like you never saw. One day I asked him I am I doing wrong I'm hell I'm right behind you and you take every corner like it's not there he goes dude it's the wheel base I'm explain he goes it's not as hard to turn when the truck and trailer turn in the middle
@sc0or5 жыл бұрын
It's so heavy that it won't move with a trailer. So, there is no problem dude

Why not just get an RV with a fifth wheel? You can do the same thing. This is for the trucker that doesn't want to truck anymore. Lol!
@jimbartosevich4986 жыл бұрын
rob peters I'm convinced that an rv is exactly what this is. The wheelbase (and resulting turning circle) would be far too much to deal with in a trailer yard, and the overall experience with driving this commercially would be less pleasant than a normal truck due to the lack of maneuverability. So I think this is a custom t.v. that just started as a truck instead of a bus

Beautiful ride. If my guess is right there's 27 ft of cab/sleeper/Garage/shed. In that truck. About 35 ft long bumper to bumper. 48ft RGN -6 ft It's only 29+48= 72 ft long. I've not seen this one but Southern Pride runs in and out of Cincinnati allot.
