@ictpilot4 жыл бұрын
@@iradoss3179 I've never heard of ARI having poor quality.
@PublicSafetyInc4 жыл бұрын
Ictpilot Ictpilot then you haven’t been listening. There’s a reason ARI only builds on airide. Their structure can’t withstand the torque of the frame flexing. Their gelcoat is passable but that’s about it. They can’t build a lounge body. The won’t add additional sleeper doors for access because it would compromise their structure. Having owned Eagles and multiple ICT’s and spending years with the most renowned fleets for big bunks I absolutely will not own an ARI.
@ictpilot4 жыл бұрын
@@PublicSafetyInc Been following ARI for years and talking to several owners, and you're the first to say they're poor quality. There's been some a few things owners talk about ( door hardware needing fixed etc.) But nothing major. Some of the same hardware used by the big bunk sleeper guys are the same as used in the RV industry.
@PublicSafetyInc4 жыл бұрын
Ictpilot Ictpilot I’ve worked with dozens of owners for years. The subframe is weak. They’ve improved some over the years. But torquing the sleeper frame, as any hard mount will, destroys the sleeper due to being under built. I dislike an airide big bunk. We,be switched 2 to bushing mounts. An ARI would shred itself. We’ve seen it. They broke from IVT, which broke from Double Eagle, to build cookie cutter mass produced sleepers. They did negotiate some great exclusivity agreements with Rush and others. But their engineering is under built. Take a look at the framework on one under construction. They’ve always put to much emphasis on low weight and low production cost. In the world of custom sleepers you get what you weigh for.

The average sleeper truck is probably like maybe less than a 1/3 of this one. It’s enormous!! My dad was a trucker and I can see him loving this! The one thing that I would think is in issue would be hauling loads light enough to remain under the legal weight limits on the road. Plus it seems like it would hinder the visibility even more right? Or are there cameras on the side? Though on roads in my area, I’ve had to back up sometimes to allow a truck enough room to turn. If this truck came along, I’d probably have to back up to the previous intersection.😳 okay so maybe I see a few issues. It’s a beauty indeed but it is probably a bit dangerous. I can’t imagine driving through the mountains would be a good idea. Runaway truck ramps would have to spread across town!

That thing is amazing; I used to have an apartment that was smaller. How does that work to usable vehicle length/payload when you're working with it? With that wheelbase I'm guessing overall the truck is nearly 50-feet long. Here in the UK the entire tractor-trailer combination is limited to 44 tonnes (97,000 lbs) and 18 metres (about 60 feet), I'm guessing your limits are a bit longer and heavier! 😃
@FutureGPTranscoDriver2 жыл бұрын
there is no length limitation for trucks they can be as long as they want What is regulated is your trailer length which is limited to 53 feet but can differ depending what state your in like lets say you live in Utah your trailer length limit is 120 feet and your whole vehicle weight limit (truck and trailer) is 136,000 lbs so this truck will struggle to do heavy haul because of its weight but can easily pull light trailers like Dry Vans and certain Tankers.

The only downside about this is the maintenance required, which fu you're paying 350k for this thing, I'd assume you could also afford the maintenance costs anyway.

My understanding is when you actually elongate that frame as much as you have to to accommodate this extra long condo unit you're hauling efficiency is significantly affected

I knew a guy named Mike Ingram when I was growing up. He had a maternal twin brother named Danny and an older brother named David. It would be weird if this is that guy, but I'm sure there is more than one Mike Ingram in the world. We lost touch after high school so who knows. Stranger things have happened.

Question; How do truckers (in general) feel about extended-sleepers? Must have? Or excessive? I'm thinking of getting my CDL. Would want an extended-sleeper like this if i decide to do long-haul OTR.
@FutureGPTranscoDriver Жыл бұрын
well companies dont give you this kind of sleeper when you to work for them usually the guys who drive these trucks own the truck outright.

@@FutureGPTranscoDriver i'm not yet a trucker. Once i get my cdl & get a good bit of training in, im thinking im going to want to get a beauty like this, esp if i end up doing otr (& especially if i become an independent-o/o doing otr). Was just trying to figure out if trucks like this would cause any jealousy, resentment, or other ill-feelings from other truckers (esp at truck-stops)
@FutureGPTranscoDriver Жыл бұрын
@@somethingepic777 well something like this is restricted for what it can haul. This particular truck will be very heavy and won’t be able to haul heavy trailers and loads
