I don't wanna get involved in this but i think i must explain somethings. What i have told to refs was to let athletes keep pulling if micro fouls happen within the borders of the elbow pad. Meaning any micro foul that doesn't give advantage to athletes. So any foul that when your elbow gets out of the pad from front, back and sides should be called a foul. I have watched the video of Jerry vs Genadi match and i saw countless fouls for Jerry from the front side of the pad and For Genadi from the back side of the pad. Refs told me that if they would have called thise fouls then all 5 rounds would have ended with fouls without a single pin. They said just because Jerry's elbow went out from the front side of the pad countless times they also didn't call Genadi's elbow foul from back side either. The only time i think side ref continued match while Genadi's elbow remained out from back side was round 2 and Jerry pinned Genadi after a few seconds and it was ref's intention for not calling that foul. The position looked hopeless for Genadi and ref just continued the match by giving opportunity to Jerry instead of restarting the match. According to the rule there should be a foul immediately once elbow is out and there should be restart but Jerry got the win because ref wanted him to keep his advantage. There was another complaint by Genadi and he complaint that round 5 before the strap he said he paraleled pinned Jerry. So anyone who claimed that refs had bad intention should know that if refs had bad intention then it was a perfect opportunity to give the win to Genadi. Refs didn't have bad intention, if they would call every foul when elbows got out of the pad then trust me the actual pull would be max 10 seconds in while 5 rounds and there would have been no pin. The match would finish on fouls and today people would be complaining by saying 'Let them pull '. Yes there were fouls and uncalled pins but those were for both sides. You can criticize this but you need to be honest to admit that both pullers fouled countless times. Unlike people claims these are some of the best refs in the world to apply Waf rules which are too strict for pro events. So refs are naturally confused about what is the best thing to do. If they call those fouls then they get blamed for kiling excitement and if they don't them then they get blamed for not calling them even tbough it was clear that both guys' elbow went out countless times. If community wants we can apply the strict Waf rules but i don't wanna hear complainings when the matches like this ends on fouls every round. It is all up to us.

I prefer to apply the WAF rules strictly, this way it is clear.

What an hard job to be ref. I think overall they let the match be interesting and fair at the same time. Great job from them, the pullers and yourself to made this war happened. Like mentionned, I think tunnel vision from fanboys, and maybe a single camera angle which showcase more of Gennadi fouls will make some people cry. Just trust your judgement and the majority of the community will keep supporting you.

@@rascalmatt6713 It was Engin's fault, in his podcast later he explained that he wanted to solve "micro fauls problem" and stopping the match whenever anybody does a miniscule foul, so he instructed his referes in this EvW event to dont call "small fouls" and let the match continue and only call "major fouls". However I think the refs didnt understand the assignment because they didnt call fould unless the elbow was literally 3 inches off the pad, which resulted in this complete comedy where both athletes slide elbows all over the table and the match keeps goin on.

It's just like in football, the refs allow the game to go on instead stop the game on a foul when the attacking team is in a scoring position. @omerkeidar952 жыл бұрын
The reffing was WAL levels of bullshirt honestly. Rules need to be enforced as strict as possible, the rules themselves need to be less strict. An elbow coming a cm off the pad for milliseconds is not the same as pulling for 5-6 seconds with your elbow fully on the table behind the pad.

Loving the east v west series. For once the fighters from all over the world can fight on 1 arena instead of being split between federations. Awesome time to be alive!

This is the second time I've re watched this and man it was such a good war! I really thought genadi was going to be able to hook Jerry and then press him. But the one match genadi went for the hook, Jerry flashed him! He's really closing alot of his weaknesses that he had in the past.
@Drezendesjr2 жыл бұрын
he never was weak in a hook. the only dude that beat him in a hook was dave chafee, the same dave that beat cyplenkov.
@rileyneufeld70012 жыл бұрын
@@Drezendesjr John, Ron bath, Devon, and even Travis have beaten Jerry with a hook. And that's not even their primary move. They all understand that going outside with Jerry is the harder task. But yes I should rephrase that Jerry isn't weak inside, it's just usually the easier option. But now it might not be...

Tremendous match, regardless of the refs. Two incredible warriors going at it full bore. I didn't get to see it live, so was unsure about the true winner from what I was hearing. Now I can honestly say the best man on that night did win the match. Congrats Jerry and big props to Genadi for giving Jerry everything he could handle. I think it's time to step up Levan's match rate. Too few and far between. Sure he may just press through either of these guys with ease, but I think we want to see those matches. If a man is willing to challenge Levan, why would the champ think twice? Assuming of course there is someone ready to shoot for the stars.
@luigimanzelli37862 жыл бұрын
that's what i'm saying too, if we keep saying that no one has the right to face Levan the dude is just gonna retire, i wanna see him compete, if he wins 6-0 i don't mind, just means he's too good, but at least he competes.

Genadi scammed his way to a win over Chaffee. Dave was up 2-0 and Genadi had to elbow off the back of pad when about to lose the 3rd due to despiration. Imo Genadi lost to Dave twice (2018 and 2022) and now Jerry.

The 49 years old is the only thing hurting him. Old man strength is real but there’s a point where there’s just no way you’re as strong as you were ten years ago and beating people half your age becomes incredibly difficult.

Awesome match but these refs need to be fired from EvW. Genadi litterally had to look at the ref and tell him he is elbow fouling for them to call it. Congrats Jerry

Man, re-watching closely Jerry was fouling his ass off at the front of the pad. It's just we had a better view of Gennadi's elbow fouls because of the camera angle. Also Jerry was a better hussler at calling Gennadi's fouls while Gennadi's didn't kick up a stink about Jerry's😆 Can't neglect the mental game. Props to Jerry
