Jerry Cantrell....the reason I decided to pick up a guitar 23 years ago at the age of 16....my favorite musician since the first time i heard Man In The Box on WEBN (Cincinnati's Lunatic Fringe / Flagship Rock and Roll Radio Station) at around the age of 7 or so...started a fire in me that has burned strong since....and I Want Blood only helped to bolster the fact that there is none better in my eyes....you never cease to amaze, and I will hold your music near and dear to my heart and soul until the day I die! Pure genius!

Jerry about the album: "This record is a serious work, it's really badass" - says Jerry about the new material. "It's very hard, no doubt, and not at all like Brighten." And that's the point: to hook up in a different place than last time. The whole album is very confident: I think it is among my best achievements in terms of songwriting and guitar playing, especially in terms of vocals." I just listened about two hours ago and then I found your share this release party, THANKS SO MUCH, MAN❗🙌🏻 The 'Afterglow' something special to me... Beautiful part of work a masterpiece. 💯

As a 22 year old aspiring musician, it is just fascinating to me how far Jerry's road has been. From falling in love with Alice in Chains records, and developing my music taste and guitar ability from playing all of the riffs from Facelift, Dirt, and Tripoid countless times and trying to sing and play Jar of Fies and Sap songs, I really think he is one of the greatest song writers of all time. I had the pleasure of seeing Alice in Chains in 2022, (and Jerry this year in August) since then they have become my favorite band. This year I bought Boggy Depot, Degredation Trip, and Brightened, and it is insane how many great songs he has made, and his journey, I just watched some of the Mad Season live videos and I really wish Layne could have figured out a way to overcome his addition and darkness like Jerry did, fucking Cold Piece man. I heard Grunge Bible podcast say they can imagine hearing Layne in these songs and what a treasure that could have been. This album is really cool, and the lyrics and riffs really hit. All of the lyrics, the hooks, the choruses, it just is the best ever and has been the one thing in my life that makes me feel like I am not alone, I guess that is the beautiful thing about music. I have nothing but gratitude that he has continued to make music, his journey, creativity and expression is truly inspiring. I didn't know I wanted blood but yeah i want fucking blood Jerry, with many helpings to come. Seeing him next February! Rock on.

I love Jerry. Really glad he kept doing his thing with AIC. Obviously losing Layne was brutal and a huge hit to the band, but they did it right in my opinion, took a lot of time away and eventually returned and didn’t really try to change or replace Layne. Jerry just took the lead and brought in someone he was close with and had worked with (Duvall) to make it more comfortable/familiar, because it was always Layne/Jerry steering the vocals with harmonies and sharing vocal duties depending on the song. On top of the voice, such a good/unique guitar player.
