Reality is they lost Layne long before he died. His death was just closure. They knew what was going to happen. Layne didn't want help and wanted to die. I lost a good friend that I didn't talk to for a couple of years after he moved, so when I heard he died, (suicide while being terminally ill) I didn't cry. I wasn't a mess. To me it's like he never died because he wasn't in my life anymore. It's like, he's been out of my life and just continues to be.

It is great, all respect to DuVall, but I drop tears that it isn’t Layne. Such a void. He’s doing a great job all these years and glad AIC is still going. Jerry’s still going, he could have went out like Layne but he didn’t. I’m grateful! Can’t fail to recognize that as epic as Layne was, Jerry is responsible for that great sound too. God Bless.

I was there took my son his first concert he was 8..... It influenced him do much . Jerry was very emotional that he said he be going to Seattle after this show to laynes wake. Jerry said he never wears the leather outfit but he said it was layned favorite

I don't think Layne could sing while playing the other guitar part that is really needed to carry this song. Same went for other songs they could pull off but still felt a little empty, live, on the guitar side of things. At least DuVall can do so whenever it's needed.

Actually only Cantrell had "the right" to be crushed (and I'm sure he was)...as the other ones here didn't even probably know Layne personally (or that much to be really crushed). It's just a pity Layne was not strong enough to beat his chemical demons.
