My God! Thank you for this. I’ve been a JLL addict for more than fifty years. He is the greatest of the greatest of the greatest. God's gift to the planet. His music heals the soul.

This is the best. I don't think Ive ever heard him in better form than in these recordings. So amazing, he's been my favorite artist forever and this is as good as anything I've heard from him. RIP JLL.

I can't seem to find a track listing on google, maybe I'm blind. But I listened, guessed and looked up songs - so here is the track listing: 1 Pride Don't Mean A Thing 2 What Am I Living For 3 One Of Those Things We All Go Through 4 Rock and Roll is Something Special 5 When I Get My Wings 6 Hang Up My Rock'n'Roll Shoes 7 C.C. Rider

I MAILED JLL AN AL JOLSON MAGAZINE ABOUT SIX MONTHS BEFORE HIS PASSING, I HOPE THAT HE GOT TO ENJOY IT. HE WAS ALWAYS SAYING THAT HE GOT A LOT OF HIS MUSIC FROM AL AND HANK WILLIAMS , AND DON'T FORGET HIS GOD GIVEN TALENT, NOBODY REALIZES THAT HE COULD SING AS WELL AS PLAY THE WHITE OFF THE PIANO KEYS!?!

I don't think I will ever be able to find all the jll music. I've been scrolling now for almost a year and still have not, and don't know if I will anytime soon. It's all good it just keeps getting better as I go!!!

This is SO much better than what was being released at the time! Strong voice, assertive accompaniment. What were labels thinking?

Yes ! The first one "Pride Don't Mean a Thing'' is, I guess, the alternate take missing on the Caribou Sessions as they added some Kilroy Sessions work later on.
@carloslewis17433 жыл бұрын
Yes I think so! it was the same producer so they mixed the two sessions, I like better Caribou though!

@@carloslewis1743 wait, is that a different version of Autumn Leaves then the one you posted with the Caribou Ranch sessions?
@carloslewis1743 Жыл бұрын
@@gerechtsdeurwaarderpeter6311 yes. He recorded that song twice. In 1980 Caribou Sessions and here, in 1987. There is no audio that I know of that '87 session version...
