Well JLL may be gone from this life. But he will live on in the hearts of his millions of fans. I'm almost eighty years old and have loved him from the first time i ever heard him. What a fantastic talent. There will never be anyone better. I once heard him say "i am the king of rock and roll. I brought it in to this world and i will be here to take it out." Well look where we are now. Who do we have left in this type of music. As far as the Hall Of Fame, he is now and forever in the greatest hall of fame of them all- the hearts of his millions of fans from around the world. Especially mine. May he rest in peace. I will not pass judgement on his personal life. I know of no one who is perfact.(save one). May GOD bless and keep him. One of the greatest talents i have ever seen.😢

@@Will_DiGiorgio Elvis will always be called that , but if you were to take everything involved, Chuck Berry would be the true King. Wrote em all, sang them all, and played them all. Plus the guitar, is THE RnR instrument. Ask almost any musician down through the years, almost all will say, or have said, that Chuck is the King. Heck, even Elvis and JLL himself have said it. All those guys played a part in the birth of RnR, but Chuck as the architect , the master. None of the pioneers, except maybe Buddy Holly, wrote all his songs (and be hits), played them, and sang them. Elvis, sang, but didn't really play or was known for an instrument (other than his voice), and Elvis didn't really write songs. JLL, Little Richard, Carl Perkins etc, Played and sang, but didn't really write their material. Chuck , did it all. And again, played the Guitar, the main RnR instrument.
@chuckfan13 жыл бұрын
JLL is one of the kings, but THE King, is Chuck Berry (see my reasons below) Love JLL and seen him many times, and he played a part in getting RnR going, but overall, Chuck was the TRUE King of RnR.. Ask almost any musician down through the years, if they had to pick one guy, over the others, its Chuck.
@chuckfan13 жыл бұрын
@@dermitderentetanzt3275 Are YOU kidding? And YOU are without information... First off , Richard had a co-writer on Tutti Frutti. And as far as I know, he didn't write much else that were HITS. Yes, as a musician, Im sure he wrote all kinds of songs. But because that wasn't a strength of his, they were not hits. Same with Perkins. So stop being in shock.. for the MOST PART, neither did Richard, Perkins, Lewis, Diddley, Vincent, Presley, write their own material. Generally they got almost all or all of their material from outside sources. Nothing wrong with that. ?Songwriting wasn't a strength. Just like Presley basically didn't play an instrument. Yes, he noodled on the piano, and strummed the guitar a bit, but for the MOST PART, he wasn't known for playing an instrument. Take my opinion in its totality. Im taking nothing away from those original pioneers. ALL had a part in getting RnR started, to the mainstream, and then in turn, influencing the next generation of rockers. My point was that Berry, was the ONLY one of all of them, who Played, Sang, and Wrote (pretty much everything, including all his hits. Yes, he covered other songs on rare occasions, but for the most part, he wrote his own stuff, then sang it, and played it) Plus the guitar is THE RnR instrument. And almost all musicians that were influenced by that original group, would say Berry, OVERALL was the main guy. Not diminishing the others, just stating fact. Including Lewis himself, who has said on MULTIPLE occasions, that Berry was the true King. Richard has said it, and Presley has said it. So relax, taking nothing away from the others.
