@@yaboykev536 Stupid guilty people maybe. No matter how smart you think you are or how curious you are about their investigation you never ever talk to the police. If they think they have enough evidence they will arrest you, if they don't they wont. No point in trying to figure out "how much they know". Ask for an attorney. If you are still charged, which is less likely if you don't talk, they will have to provide all the evidence they intend to use against you before trial. Talking to the police will basically never be in your benefit. The few times that it will be then let your attorney tell you that and let them do the talking for you.

You ever been in a room with two police investigators and the words that you do or don’t say will affect the rest of your life? I have…I had the benefit of not committing a crime, but I promise you that regardless; watching this on KZbin…you’re not getting even 1/10th of 1% of the weight that falls onto your shoulders and presses you deeper and deeper and even when you’re innocent of a crime you feel it. Trust me. Luckily for me, the police in the UK are not allowed to lie to you about any evidence because we believe that it encourages false confessions (I agree btw) so I couldn’t be lied to in order to scare me even more. I wish the ‘Reid Technique’ was compared in a video to the ‘PEACE Technique’ used by UK investigators. We don’t have all of our interviews or interrogations as they’re called in the US available to the public.

The suspect made the biggest mistake by signing away his rights. People in trouble always believe that they can somehow talk their way out of a police interrogation, but the cops hold all the aces. They can keep you from cigarettes, food, water, toilet, sleep, and peace. NEVER EVER sign away your rights. NEVER go in that little crappy room alone with them. Take a lawyer with you. ALWAYS. If you are interested, the Reid Technique for interrogation is all over the internet. Forewarned is forearmed.

If this guy was intelligent he would have asked for a lawyer as soon as the first officer would not answer his questions about being arrested or detained. When you're in that room no detective is your friend. Innocent or guilty ask for a lawyer. Though I must say I'm always entertained when the bad guys don't ask for a lawyer. It makes good content for KZbin and great comments.

I've watched at least 5 interrogations with this sane lead detective. His approach is essentially the same tactics, which is very effective from the ones I've seen. Shows up late, nonchalant, brilliantly deflects any questions the suspect attempts to ask, seeking information as to what evidence he has. Calm nature keeping the dipshit suspect relaxed and gaurd at a mid to low level. His questions slowly start to become direct after cornering the suspect at the same time saying things like "everyone's saying this" and giving suspect alternate defenses that appear less severe and once the suspect goes with it he SNATCHES the life out them proving the same defense he just gave him but at that point the suspect has already agreed to enough evidence that's puts them at the scene and have committed committed the crime😂 GOT EEEEM !

I think a lot of people missed the main point of what the detective was doing. He didn't need Jerry to confess to anything. Jerry's guilt or innocence all revolved around the plea of "self-defense." It was obvious the cops already definitively had Jerry on the scene as the shooter. But I really doubt that L'il Red showed up for the deal without any weapons, especially considering that he had allegedly already robbed Jerry once. So Jerry had a pretty clear plea of self-defense. Sure he had gone there for a deal, but he was really worried about L'il Red jacking him again, so he brought a weapon. Self-defense is built into the whole scenario, and the cops entire case would die on this point in court. The detective effectively destroyed that defense, but before he did that he gave Jerry every chance to go there, to almost a ridiculous degree. Had Jerry ever picked up on that, he would have suddenly confessed the whole "I had no other choice" story, but instead he effectively destroyed his only defense. Ergo, the detective made sure it would go to court and the police's case would stand, though he certainly gave Jerry a chance. I think this is one of the few interrogation videos I've ever seen where the detective was actually trying to help the suspect. Unfortunately, the suspect was just too stupid to get it.
