When we were talking to them on the job about a death, we tended to say “the body” and then switch to the person’s name when we were speaking to them during personal time because too often they knew the deceased person and it was considered polite to allow them to compartmentalize and depersonalize the matter while at work and deal with the trauma at the appropriate time (or, too often, at an inappropriate time, but that’s a whole different issue). I think the dawn of social media has made EVERYONE into self-absorbed twats. Posting doctored and filtered photos of idealized poses to pretend our lives are better and more exciting and impactful than they really are, just to impress total strangers. It's sickening and anyone over age 40 is like "what the HELL are these kids doing???"... But even the older folks are twisted and narcisistic in their own way (they had reality TV and think everything is a TV show). It's stupid and I pray to God that Gen Z can somehow recover from this horrendous society we have all created. Because right now, if TikTok is any indicator, they're going to be the most self-obscessed generation to ever live. No way to prove he knew that night. even the cops that came out there didnt see the body that night. Now i do believe he was on his phone i think thats pretty obvious but saying "what a load of rubbish he knew what he did that night" is the reasons jurys are so bad in this country. They ignore the evidence or lack there of on a topic and go with their own random or bias thoughts. I havnt seen any evidence in this case to point to "he knew what he did that night" being true. I've seen plenty of evidence that he was very negligent and was on his phone so probably didnt see what he hit. but there is no evidence pointing to he knew he hit a person and then the cops worked with him to cover that up. Even if it is true and who knows it could be there is no evidence showing its true! If you're ever called in for Jury duty please just follow the evidence not your own opinion thats why so many cases with a huge amount of reasonable doubt still come back guilty. Because ppl who are bad jurors look at a mountian of evidence showing reasonable doubt and ignore it for 1 or 2 pieces of evidence pointing toward the person and dont care that those pieces of evidence could be coincidental. Its the states job to prove a crime beyond resonable doubt. There are plenty of examples of this out there. Gotta look at the totality of the evidence.

But rest assured my friend...there is a Creator/Designer, who is watching ALL, and these corrupt "officials", are surely, NOT going to get away with their crimes in the long run. They WILL have to face Jesus Christ on Judgment Day. The problem is...none of them believe that. In fact...that is the real problem with corrupt officials...they are not afraid of God. Easy he was looking at his phone and reading something and bam hit it in an instant, When i hit a deer i was 99% sure it was a deer but not 100% sure and I wasnt reading something on my phone. It happened so fast i only got a small glance at the actual deer i was 99.9% sure it wasnt a human but not 100% til the cops got there and we found the deer. So i assume if i was not looking at road and was looking at my phone then ..... bam!.... its a flash by time you're looking its done you're scared your mind is racing Its easy to see how he could not know it was a person. You also gotta remember he didnt know those glasses were in his car seconds after the accident. He didnt know til that day the cops interviewed him. And he said that day he doesnt recognize those glasses. There is no evidence to show he knew it was a person during hitting the person or after the accident. Theres no evidence for a cover up. Theres no evidecne of any wrong doing in this case other than the liklyhood of him being on his phone while driving. Which sadly there isnt a good law in the state he lives to punish that crime. It would be negligent Homicide. I think thats only thing he could have possibly been charged for but again his state doesnt have that law so they coudlnt charge him for that .WIth the huge lack of evidence of wrongdoing the best they could have gotten him for is maybe criminal negligence if they have that law but TBH that would be kinda waste of time and money since likely he'd win that case since they didnt have 100% solid proof of him being on phone just that its pretty likely he was. In this case there just wasnt any evidence of wrong doing really the best they had was him on his phone but they couldnt prove he was on the phone the exact minute he hit the person only that he was shortly before he hit the person. So there shouldnt be any suprise he wasnt charged. He didnt get a ton of special treatment by not being charged. Its unlikely anyone who could afford a good lawyer or in his case is a good lawyer would be charged in this case. Now if you were Poor then yeah they're charging you to force a plea deal. special treatment isnt the issue with our justice system. The issue is Rich ppl get away with more crimes because unless its very very serious and in some cases even when it is very serious they dont get charged or they get found not guilty because they can buy such good lawyers where poor ppl dont have that option. DAs take advantage of this knowledge. They know poor ppl cant get the good legal defense so they charge them when they shouldn't in cases they have very very little chance of winning knowing that the person isnt gonna take the 1 or 2% chance of being found guilty and going to jail/prison for years if they get offered a plea deal and get probation or a very short sentence. This in turn lets the DAs rack up wins making it appear they're doing a great job fighting crime. Thats why you never see a rich person getting arrested for possession of illegal firearm, or negligence or many other crimes. Or any crime where the evidence isnt very clear cut and solid. Poor ppl get tons of hard jail time every day for a case that had no physical evidence and in many cases even week secondary evidence like witness ect. Because they dont have the money to fight it instead they get a lawyer appointed to them that has 200-300 other "clients" and can only spend a few hours tops on this persons case and in many cases that lawyer is just doing whatever he can to make a quick deal even if he knows the case is super weak and his "client" is likely innocent he doesnt care in his mind if he can get them to take the Plea deal and get 10 years its a win win win. THe DA gets a win, he gets a win on not having to work anymore on this case and the client gets a very small win in he wont have to take the huge risk of going to trail and having a 50% or higher chance of going away for 20 or 30 years for something he didnt do because the lawyer isnt gonna fight any harder. So these public defenders take plea deals getting innocent ppl years in jail because they know if it goes to trail they'll lose the case even if the case is crazy weak against the person the public defender knows he doesnt have the time or resources to dedicate to fight this case so to him getting that plea deal for 10 years saved his client 10-20 years of time because he cant win at trail because of the limitations the system has placed on him time wise resource wise ect. Its insane and unfair but its the way it works. Never top to the police, Get a real lawyer if you can, Don't take a plea deal if you're innocent unless they're rail roading you and its that or a huge sentence!

@@mgenigma5 Luckily for the victim, he almost certainly died immediately and to the point he may not even have registered the impact. The reason I say this is the glasses being found inside the car, and his clothes being mostly gone. This means the impact pushed his head through the windscreen and then tore him out of it and through him across the road with with such force his clothes were shredded. For him to survive he'd have had to have that happen without breaking his neck, or suffering catastrophic damage to the brain or torso, which while technically possible isn't likely. With every minute that passes after impact he is more likely to have died. So yeah, while it is possible to be hit by car and live for hours, the description of the event by the police tends to suggest that the way he was hit means his injuries were far too severe for that to be the case here.
