Yes, he brought order and security to Ghana and for that I salute him immensely. Ghana today is lawless without him.

Not only did JJ Rawlings had to crack eggs (corrupt and rotten eggs at the time), but also and more importantly, he knew how to make an omelet out of the situation, an omelet not for himself and his clan, but an omelet for the Ghanaian people and for Africa. Like his younger brother Thomas Sankara (who left too soon), JJ Rawlings have succeeded in making Africans proud to be Africans. What more beautiful testimony of greatness and humility than that of passing in a hospital in Accra, whereas many other African statesmen would have been evacuated to Saudi Arabia or to Europe. R.I.P., JJ… you are an inspiration. May this and future generations of young African leaders follow in your footsteps.

Did the killings stops corruptions in Ghana? Did his actions made Ghana an industrialized country’s? His own NDC party’s officials were corrupt

@@justiceappiah3060 Legitimate questions. And yes, it's fair enough to look up to our leaders. But it is insane to take our leaders as a messiah, as "god-sent" who would fix all of society's problems. Our leaders ain't virgins, or choir boys, or clean as spring water. Yet, in Africa, how often do We The People, the man-in-the-street, the "regular folks" call out (yes, as risky as it may be!) our elected officials to denounce wrongdoings? Be it a judge or a police officer taking bribes? Oftentimes, we're even the enablers. If a leader dares to pay lip service by declaring war on corruption, then it is up to us the people, the masses to taken him or her on and denounce each and every occurrence of corruption and press on until something is done about it. The other option is to simply shrug it off and then move on with our lives, hoping that someone else will take care of that.

What accomplishment, this evil man didn't accomplish anything good in Ghana,,he came to power with bad intentions to destroy Ghana, he wrecked Ghana's economy ,commit countless atrocities with his gang, destroy the life of millions of hard working wealthy Ghanaians all because he didn't have any money, ended up stealing money from the country, killed all the top judges in Ghana including a young woman who has just given birth to a new born baby, there is nothing good to be said about this man if you were old enough to witness his reign,.he shouldn't even be mourn by anyone apart from his family.

To the few who lost families during the coups we say sorry but remember that Mr J was condemned to be killed by your fathers after his initial failed attempt, until he was rescued by his junior soldiers. Coups are bloody and it could have been him who got killed. He was loved by majority of Ghanaians and we shall celebrate him for where he delivered Ghana to.🔥

This is sloppy journalism. He didnt do 2 coups. 1. He led a failed mutiny in May 1979, 2. Took charge of an armed force in revolt in June 1979. He didn't lead it. Would you say the civilians put in charge when a military does a coup takes place did a coup? 3. He did do a coup in 1981/82 , which was his one and only coup. 4. He was a junior Officer. Not a senior Officer. Flight Lieutenant. There is the clear distinction as this was the first time in the Africa a junior Officer took over power, and it had an effect on the region. 5. The Judges werent executed, the way you mention the Commanders being executed. The judges were assasinated by persons unknown. No official link has been made to the government of the day. Junta is pronounded Joontah. Not jAnta. If you are going to do journalism, basic facts like these cannot be wrong. or you're completely and recklessly misrepresenting facts.

@Nana Adutwum so you the perfect one who never sin do you know how long you gonna live? With all his imperfections he died at age 73 and he had a peaceful exit. You accused people with no evidence and when people are expressing their condolences you are here fighting the dead. How do you get forgiveness from God when you have no love and forgiveness in your hearts and speak negative against the dead. You go to church everyday and still look miserable like unbeliever because your heart is full of hate. Ghanaians, learn how to love and stop hating one another .

Why declared national mourning days for this dictator. Ghana should be celebrating his death instead. This man never made any positive impact in Ghana . He took over a good country like Ghana and destroyed it. The man was corrupted, coward, bully, and he had no integrity. During his time in Ghana he amassed himself with Ghana money He sold all Ghana assets and he pocketed them. All the lawlessness, crime, violence, poverty we see in Ghana today I credit them all to Ghana. So I don't understand why Ghanaians are crying for this murderer and the rogue person. Thank God Ghana is moving forward now and we don't need Rawlings in it.
