TRIBUTE TO J.J. RAWLINGS: THE RAGING STEAM OF BOOM!! Incredulity and suspicion were how the news of your transitional travel to the ancestral land was met with, yet with our yelp of pain or euphoria, you're remembered in our collective memories. On your way to a tomb so we remind ourselves of your life's work on a tome, made of papyrus from ancient Ghana. For us eighties', nineties' to two-thousands kids, who are now in our 40's and beyond, 30's and 20's. Growing up, on the Golden Coast off the Gulf of Guinea, we knew of only one Chairman! One President! And ofcourse, one Raging Steam of a Boom called: Ft, Lt. Jerry John Rawlings. Although your footsteps now sound faint because you're travelling to an ancestral home-- of Nii Mei and Naa Mei--we still recall: the bold as a boulder sounds of your footsteps traveling on our roads, airwaves, televisions and sky. Akin to clay, you were this red dusty clay earth of this Sub-Saharan land, who proudly hailed from a coastal land dusted with gold, and where beautiful clay hats once upon a time were built. As a younger clay, you prayed the Hail Mary then grew into a fine clay house, absorbing the intense heat of the subSahara sun quite comfortably with your straw hats together with the masses. Thus withstood hailstorms demanded by the masses' shout for justice. With chutzpah, in times of tumult, turbulence and ultimately sacrifice by comrades and civilians, Your charisma and fortitude you absorbed from this intense golden rays and belief in self and the common man, you brought about civilian rule. Red hue clay, a true believer of Pan Africanism, with the motto: Probity and Accountability. Even though it didn't pan out as planned, it was the right gesture, for your people. As you await your twenty-one gun salute to embark on your final travel to your tomb, from grateful or other citizens of the aforementioned periods, we say: "Akpe na wo"!! For with all your fallibilities, you can't be denied a legacy of the birth of this Fourth (4th) Constitutional Republic bequeathed to this nation that has seen power transferred between two main political parties peacefully. For those doubting, cast thy sight to observe what occurred later to our neighbor on the Coast of Ivory in the ensuing years after his reign. Papa Jay with a vindicated legacy, as a strong tsunami wave, you touched the shores and inland with your indelible footsteps recorded on this young papyrus nation's existence. SO RIDE ON! RAGING STEAM OF BOOM. For a gallant old soldier like yourself, you will never die in our collective memories. On earth and posthumously, the kind of soldier that made other men proud! Thus, we say: "Blewu'e na d'aƒe lo." RIP in the bosom of Asasse Yaa Chairman/President Flt. Lt. J.J Rawlings (rtd) By: John Asagba

When Ghana was going through Tougher times and the military has the power to bring about change, was indeed the period when the real change must come to the people of Ghana yet it appears Ghana then and now is not in control of its own economy . Talking about Revolution we have seen the industrial revolutions and their Legacy. China , the Korea's , Cuba and in recent years Iran revolution have something to be proud of my question is what do we have to show to the world in our so many years of attaining independence....
