Good for Linda having that colonoscopy. I was just at the doctor last week. He was reviewing my chart and noticed that I was overdue for my colonoscopy. He reminded me to schedule that test and said, "You don't want that to slip through the cracks.". He just wanted me to remember, but we both laughed & laughed at how that sounded. 😂

I just had one as well a few weeks ago and they found some polyps, now l have to go back in 5 yrs … l don’t want to , but l also don’t want cancer so it’s a no brainer . So glad Linda brought it up 🥰

​@d.l.n.7133 my dad had polyps removed more than once, so I am on a 5 year recall for colonoscopies. I have had 2 already, and I am due for #3 in 2024. Too bad the prep couldn't be a little easier, but the procedure itself is nothing as one is totally sedated.

We give our kids cash. I started putting it in a "trinket" box every year. They now have a collection. They buy what they want anyway. The littles are fun to buy for. 🙂

I love Phillips Collision! I had a fender bender and had them do the repairs. When I picked up the car, it had been completely detailed (inside and out)! It looked like a brand new car.

For colonoscopies, you can use a mix of Gatorade (yellow or green I think are ok colors) and Miralax. I used this the last 2 times, after I couldn’t stomach the mix from the doctor’s office and sought alternatives. You can even use Gatorade Zero. The mix just tastes like sweet Gatorade. It’s very tolerable and makes the prep much easier. The recipe can be easily found online.

Interesting how the instructions are different. What you described above are the instructions our doctors office gives us. As long as the outcome is the same!

@@karendjohn8803 Some doctors offices do tell people to use the Gatorade+Miralax. Others still sell or prescribe a different mix. My doctor’s staff started to get me set up with their mix, and I simply said I was going to use the Gatorade+Miralax and I didn’t get any pushback.

I would definitely check with the Gastroenterologist, before taking a preparation that isn't prescribed by the doctor who will be doing the procedure. My GI doc told me if you aren't cleaned out the test results might not be accurate and you might have to have the test repeated.

Speaking of loosing electronics… back in the 80s I wore a pager for my job. One day I heard a high pitched whine. I walked around cubicle-land to find the source. Everyone said they heard it too. Fast forward a few minutes and I realized it was the low battery warning from my pager!

Happy face or not Jerry you mention "work ethic" that is so difficult to find these days anywhere..any type of job. Especially the "trades" such as most homeowners need...plumbing, electrical and especially outdoor yard work. Your tips regarding good experiences must be very helpful to those living near you...to be honest these days I will take someone who knows what they are doing and if they are pleasant all the better. Linda, I had the same experience with my phone, and have also done that with keys. Definitely understand that feeling of panic! So glad you had it with you the whole time! I'm also a big fan of fried green tomatoes. I never see them in the winter though! I always grab them at the farmers market in the summer!Great show again, lots of helpful information! My wife does not drive (by choice) but we think would be comfortable with a golf cart. The walkability plus all the variety all 100% golf cart accessible is key. Anyway thank you we enjoy your show.

You will have a good time, but I think you might find that is not all that walkable. Walking in the neighborhoods is fantastic, but getting to places you need to go can be a different story.

As usual another great show! Merry, you are just like me when it comes to less than friendly employees. It sort of becomes a challenge to me to try and make them smile. I will usually ask them how their day is going with a big smile. Sometimes I will say that they look like they are having a rough day and I hope it gets better. Sometimes, I can get them to snap,out of it because they are embarrassed that they are being called out, most of the time they say nothing and continue in their foul mood. In my house growing up, if I came to breakfast in a bad mood, I got sent back to my room until I could be pleasant. No one is taught this anymore. Love you guys! Keep up the great work.

Thank you for getting a colonoscopy Linda. I had my first one at age 52, then 4 years ago, and I am due for another one in 2024. My 2019 colonoscopy cost almost $20K, but my employer's health insurance paid every penny of it. Yes, the prep for the colonoscopy is not the highlight of your year, but it is preventive medicine. And you are totally sedated during the procedure itself. My Dad had a friend who did not survive colon cancer.

In our house, and likely because of British heritage we don't really start to put up decorations until a week before Christmas and it is all down and packed away on New Years Day. I think that may have been because we used to have live trees and they didn't last much more than two weeks if you were lucky.

Went through that "colonoscopy thing" about 3 weeks ago so I can relate, Linda! Yes, I do remember Ex-Lax, Jerry. It was a very popular laxative back in the day. Adults had to be careful guarding it because kids would mistaken it for candy. It looked just like a chocolate bar and tasted like it too. I'm planning on getting an electric fireplace very soon. I not only want it for the chilly days/nights but for the ambiance especially at Christmas time. I love fried green tomatoes also Linda! I got word jumble and I believe it! I wouldn’t wish a colonoscopy prep on my enemy. It’s exhausting glad you’re back in the swing of things. Michael seems like a nice guy. I think he even liked my comment last Thursday 🤗. What? How does a handle come off a vehicle. Dealers always overcharge. I didn’t gain in college either. I actually lost. Was a nursing student so constantly running from campus to my hospitals for clinical and couldn’t fit Spanish in my curriculum but fit a dance class 3x a week. Figured you moved Gizmo for the Christmas cards & decorations. But I thought it was a solid statue. Soft fur & so lifelike. 😢. Happy tears. Love the bloopers 😂. You’re so funny Linda. Never too sick to shop is right. My husband keeps his license and debit card in his phone like you. I don’t like that because he is a little careless. Always dropping. Awesome show today. Keep up the great work. My best friend and her husband live in Gilcrest. My other and her husband live in Fenny... I've been down several times. Haven't been down now since before Covid. They're always trying to convince me to buy my retirement home there. Up here in MA I'd sure make the dollars selling my home but wouldn't afford me to be a snow bird. I am not a fan of oppressive heat & humidity. At least here in the summer we have the ocean less than 12 miles.

My next door neighbor has a clay adobe style wood burner. He buys the bundle of wood from a store ( I have seen them at Publix, Rural King, Sparr and other places) I do not know where he stores the wood, but I think the bundle is small enough that he burns it all up in one evening.

We have an older Toyota Camry and had the same thing happen. Did the same thing. We had used a body shop a couple of years before and they put it on while we waited. $50.00. Many Japanese cars use similar handles, and similar problems.

We just get for the Littles, the adults usually get what they want or need anyways, throughout the year. What we do is play several gift games, like white elephant game, in ours the coveted number is 1st place, because you get to go twice!!😊😊

I shop at salvage yards for car parts as much as I can and, unless the part needs to be repainted, the employees of the salvage yard have always replaced the parts for me (body only). They never charged me a nickel. Now I’m usually in a new vehicle (3 in 5 years) so I haven’t had to utilize their services. Gotta love warranties. The only reason I had so many cars is I leased the first two, both of which I liked much better than the one I bought, but it’s red. I wanted red. Oh yeah, tell Linda I pulled the handle off of my car door once as well. What a pain. Of course mine was the driver’s side so I’d have to open door from the inside from the passenger’s side blah blah blah. I got it fixed - at the salvage yard. Yes, I remember Ex-lax. Kids, especially boys, would prank their friends all the time with it. I never used it, never even tasted it. I was a kid. I also remember the weight loss caramels called Aids which went off the market when AIDS became prevalent in the early 80s. GOT THE PUZZLE

I am your age and when I was 5 or so, my Mom gave me a chocolate square in front my older siblings and made me feel so special! They were giggling, but I just thought they were jealous. 😂🍫

I'd love to see the Christmas lights in The Villages. Here in AZ we drive around and look at the lights with Christmas music on the radio. We call it ooo la la ing.
