Well, you have inspired me to run out to inspect my inner tire stems and TPMS sensors. I always have the TPMS on while driving, as that is what it is for: to detect issues while underway to hopefully warn me before the tire goes flat. Highly recommend you leave it one while driving.

Just happened to me on my Fleetwood Discovery. I didn’t realize how important those rubber spacers were until my valve stem cracked just like yours and started a slow leak. May have to glue those suckers in place.

Thanks for this wonderful video,it is an eye opener for things that matters that we are not taking notice of.What is the name of that rubber piece holding the air valve extender and where can I check for it.

Have the tire's valve stems replaced with all metal valve stems (you can get long ones that reach out past the outer tire) - they'll stay in place without rubbing on the wheel whole.

I just got all new tires and asked for metal valve stems. Discount Tire. They said they couldn't get them to not leak air so they put on rubber/copper stems. I have braided extensions on inner dullies. I didn't know what to say.

Using some silicone on outside of the rubber stabilizer to the rim, apply silicone. Do this on both sides of the rim. Should help keep that stabilizer in place. .... don't forget to clean the surfaces with some Rubbing alcohol or something so silicone will stick :)

When you said “I have a TPMS, but don’t always have it turned on in the RV”…you lost me..! These stem extensions have been used with high success for decades by Truckers, but they also maintain their trucks incredibly well because that’s how they make their living. Now these hard stems & flexible stem extensions have gotten a bad name because of “Lack of Inspection & Maintenance” mainly by RV owners! There’s several fail-safes that can be used to keep this and other things from happening. I hope you’re having better luck now!

BTW…I’m not ripping on you! It may come off like that and definitely not meant that way!
