The groove of Sugaree sucked me into my own private addiction to Jerry Garcia. The rest is just a long strange trip💃💃💃💃

@@staggerlee4979 tell me he did not make the sound of the Jerry Garcia Band sound almost like a UFO 🛸 blasting off at times with the synths he used. Like that Catfish John from the After Midnight release which I believe was 2/28/1980 at Keane College New Hampshire was out of this world

@@dustintaylor112 I recorded the next night's late show 2/29/80 Hempstead off the radio and listened to it as my only live Jerry for years. Tiger has a phenomenal tone. Jerry's and Ozzie's playing is scintillating and that show has my favorite version of Masterpiece. Johnny D is also great on drums. I don't know why Greg Errico replaced him after the spring 80 tour. Ozzie is my second favorite Jerry era after the Gospel Melvin, Swing Sister era which is when I saw all my Jerry shows. I could have attended the late Feb, early March Ozzie run and don't remember why I didn't since I had already seen the Dead at MSG and Nassau. Transportation issues? I was only 15 with no driver license. 🎸🐯🎹👽

Ooh, I love that little harmony on the chorus. And the guitar, as always, like butter, oh the improv. Damn Jerry. Love that piano too...very nice.

JG/GD a perfect storm for this music to come together all but a blip in time never to be repeated. much like the renasancense . this music will die with humanity and humanity is dying all-around us.

there is a coffee shop, near my girlfriends house. we go there, i'd say, often. they play all kinds of music. some terrible some good. but today, we went to work outside. the weather has been great here in Texas. summers leaving, autumns falling around. i was working with my headphones on and who do i hear whispering in my ear? Jerry. I went to the counter and talked with the guys responsible, he said, norcal 76. god has bless this music - it soothes my soul, speaks to me out of everything that's in my head...it's peace. dialed in and beautiful. anyway, thought you'd like to know how i first heard this song.... Hartford '77 is the best Sugaree but this stands as a close second. Jerry's guitar is a balm.

Totally loving all the recordings in this album. Jerry is a delight sounding confident and creative. But the real nice surprise is the clean piano. This really could serve as a de facto "Best of Keith" record! Woof! woof! wag wag wag wag wag wag wag wag wag wag wag wag wag wag wag wag wag wag wag wag wag wrroof!
