When you are physical, it will keep you longer in that realationship than you have to be, especially when that person is not the one God intended for you.

She is absolutely right. The clarity of mind is astonishing when one chooses abstinence. After 9 years of abstinence I can spot ppl's true intentions a mile away. I immediately see ppl for who they really are. It only takes a few seconds to know who I am dealing with and I have been able to avoid those who do not have my best interest at heart. I feel free and liberated and the more I keep with it the stronger and the more secure I feel with myself. I truly recommend trying it. Believe me, you will gane more than you could ever possibly imagine.

Refreshing to hear this. My abstinence is too long of a story to get into other than it was intentional and like Essence said, helped me clear my head. I was not making healthy choices and so I just stopped partaking. It works for me. There are so many ways to fill up in life. There's no one way. I might have just outed myself as asexual. But it seems to be a late in life thing. I was just a bit younger than Essence when I realized I needed a break. And a break became a deeply contented and satisfying way of life, now entering its second decade.
