@@SparkleInYourEyes2024 My mother lived an average life with no special diet but avoided sugar and looks 20 yrs younger than her age. So do a lot of women in my family. Science says melanated people especially black skin ages 15-20 yrs slower than non melanated skin. So black woman magic still has a lot to do with it. It's an advantage whether people choose to accept it or not and I didn't need science to tell me what I see all around me.

@@lareinelester685 You still need to take proper care of yourself. Just being Black is not going to cut it. Whenever I go visit family in the South I am amazed at how big and fat a lot of the Black women are. Even the young Black girls are horribly overweight and they look old for their age because of the weight. That proves my point that taking care of yourself overrides having dark skin.

Born a white kid in 1970 I grew up watching these primarily black cast shows like Good Times, Sanford and Son, The Jefferson’s and not having any thought's about color. I was raised that we are all unique individuals, fellow Americans. In 2024 I’m saddened by our world now but stay optimistic about our future. ❤️✌🏼🇺🇸

And in _Coming to America_ as the iconic Mr. McDowell. So far from the iconic James Evans, Sr., it was nice to see him portray a wealthy business owner of his own fast food restaurant. Also, it was great seeing him share the screen once again with two iconic stars from _Roots,_ James Earl Jones and the late Madge Sinclair (as their Royal Majesties, the King and Queen of Zamunda).👑👑

Yes because I know his frame did not like all the extra weight. I know from experience when you go from super skinny to super heavy, especially when you're tall your body be like "Ninja what are you DOING to us?!!'

OMG, that part where they all jumped up as James & Michael went to tussling Willona back and forth and she almost lost her wig as a result. An old high school teacher of mine, she was in the audience for that episode (we were talking about classic sitcoms) and I remember her telling me that people in the audience were in tears from laughing hysterically (and she was too; that audience was SCREAMING with laughter)

I lived in Brooklyn 1984-2017. I use to go to this chinese restaurant Kum Kau on Myrtle Ave in Fort Green Brooklyn and I always saw Ralph Carter. He was always so friendly, talkative and impeccably dressed! He still looks the same as he did during that time.

Ralph does not look the same at all. It seems he has dental issues n his face is drawn in. I met him too in 1977 n I have a photo to prove it. He is a very sweet person but his face doesn’t even resemble his former self.
