Geat video Jerry. It's a pity that this version of the app isn't available outside NZ/AUS. The MG iSmart app we have here in UK is really limited to some very basic functions - the 2 star rating it gets says it all.

In an earlier text I criticised the presentation because of the accent and speed of Jerrys speech which has offended. Firstly I apologise and no offence was intended. Just constructive criticism. However if this video is global it should be understandable by everyone and unfortunately as a Yorkshire man with hearing difficulties this was not so. Jerry , yes I do appreciate the beauty of accents but in the right context. But tutorials is not one of them. I do value and appreciate these videos as a new MG4 owner but want understanding, not beauty when trying to to learn. Hi mate thanks for the informative video. Can you do a video on how the mobile sim or network in the vehicle actually works as in, what network does it register to? And is it automatically assigned to a particular gsm network? How os the data usage billed to your account ? Thanks and looking fwd to it.

Thanks for the comment. Not possible to bind multiple phones at once. If it is bond to phone A, phone B can get into the same email account and password, phone B will connect to the car straightaway but kick out the phone A at the same time. The same applies to Phone A when it reconnects.

Would be great if MG listen to it customers and allow the digital key and other feature available through app for the same MG ZSEV car overseas but for Australia we get the cut down version.

Yes, you can use all these functions when you are away from the car. It connects to internet.

The last feature mentioned in the video is the premium feature. Everything else is available on Lite

OK I get it, the MG4 variants are named different depending on the region. So the Essence is Trophy in UK, Luxury in Belgium,.... I did compare the specs in the PDF for BE and AU, strange that the Essence does 0-100kmh in 7,2s in AU and 7,9s in BE? And Exite51 takes 7,7 in AU and also BE. I should think BE specs are correct for Essence since the weight is higher on Essence with same kW and Nm as Exite51. In BE only the Exite51 has 6,6kW onboard charger, the other variants 11kW3F. But in AU only the LR77 has 11kW. So the iSmart Lite is just missing the abbillty to send over GPS planning? If I'm right there is no satnav at all in the basic model, so indeed this function is of no use then. I noticed in the BE PDF they mentioning an iSmart Lite 10,25" touchscreen for basic, and also iSmart 10.25' touchscreen for higher variants. So some functions will also be missing on the screen in basic models (sat nav and ...?) The AU pdf also says: EV tripplanning is coming in oct 23, do you have this already? That is about route planning with charge stops. I noticed the weight differs for BE and AU: 1635/1651/1675/1751 vs. 1635/1648/1672/1748, maybe due the 11kW3F charger?

Jerry, quick question.. I have an essence spec in another country. How can I check if I have a heat pump equipped or not. It seems to be very much like the models sold in AU/NZ

NZ/ AU models have no heat pump. So probably no for yours

@@JerryPanandCars Gotcha.. I live in a place where temps go from 15-35C around the year.. we DO feel cold in 15 haha so we would use the heating a bit to get to like 22 at least. Do you think that will have an incidence? TBH that's like 1-2 months a year no more. As I understand heat pumps real advantage is when the temps are really low. On the other hand having a heat pump to cool the car is not a huge advantage (battery wise) ? Is that correct? Oh do you have a video on hotspotting and using online music (amazon) I'm curious if there is unlimited data on the car or not, this was not documented for me

Hi Jerry, hoping you can help. I have my MG ZS EV bound to my phone, and have created the app account. But there doesn't seem to be any communication between the two as the screen in the app shows no statistics or operating any functions. I've tried absolutely everything to no avail. Any ideas would be very much appreciated - I'm at the end of my rope!!!

Thought I'd add: when I press on 'find my car' it says it's unable to get the vehicle's GPS and shows up at Cotter's Creek, ACT (nowhere near me). However the navigation in the car works fine so I gather the GPS isn't the issue

Hi Jerry. In December 2023, I bought a new MG Mulan car (51 kW) in China and use it in Ukraine (Eastern Europe). I encountered a problem that the car could not connect to the Internet (including via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth). Accordingly, the car does not generate a Qr-code. Because of this, some of the car's functions are not active. Do you or any of the subscribers know how to solve this problem?

I am in UK. It does work but often there are strange delays. Pressing the brake pedal often kicks the registration process along😊
