Im still using my s8 after 2 years, and its ridiculous how good this phone is. My screen doesnt have burning, because i always kept brightness under half of that scale (once i read it, if you use it above that, you will have screen burn). And the pnoe is strong af. I spent 8 days in a hospital, and dropped my phone several times whitout a case. My only issue is that i dropped my phone on asphalt, and a little stone broke my camera's glass. I replaced it, but my camere cant focus on near objects so tomorrow im going to buy an S20. Best phone i've ever had, 10/10, recommend to everyone.

When you say you tried everything did you turn off battery optimization for the Gmail app? Edit: Oh wow. I didn't know so many had this issue lol. I realized this was a problem when I wasn't getting my Amazon delivery notifications and one day when I switched battery optimization off for a couple of games that I play(weren't getting the it's your turn notifications) I figured that Amazon, bank of America, KZbin, and Gmail probably shouldn't have optimization turned on either. Settings > Apps > Special Access (top right menu) > Optimize Battery Usage : Make sure the drop down is set to "All" and then uncheck any apps you want to always run in the background.

I really love and appreciate the fact that despite tech reviewing being his job, he doesn't feel it an absolute necessity to switch his phone over to the newer ones as they come out, despite the fact he's in a position to do so. He uses his existing device as long as it works just fine according to his daily routine. That's a class A act. Weak. I use a samsung grand prime, the screen is broken, if i use wi-fi the battery will last like 15 minuted, the home button fell off.The battery has swollen, the phone is overheating easily and the glue keeping the screen in place has melted and bcz of that the screen is going to fall soon. Not to mention that i dropped the phone while charging, and the charging port is preety broken so it will only charge if you keep it in a special position.
