Reminds me of a prank a friend pulled on me a couple years ago. Me, him and a couple other friends were hanging out at his place when he asked me if he could look at my phone, a cheap ZTE. I gave it to him and looked away to continue my conversation. Seconds later he said "Hey guys look" as he pointed at "my" phone on the floor and smashed the screen with a hammer. I flew up and yelled "WHAT THE FUCK!?", but he proceeded to pull out my actual phone out of his pocket and gave it back to me. Turns out he had the same phone and a day before it had fell out of his pocket as he got out of his car and closed the door. The phone managed to jam between the door and the car and got pretty fucked up. That's the phone he smashed with a hammer and not mine lmao

There will be more versions like the old and rumored pro to keep up with other consoles, but as of now, Nintendo would be hard pressed to just let the switch go.

In my eyes it's very durable, my problem was that the left stick starter to drift. Luckily I have guarantee for 1 year from nintendo, and I bought another 2 years. I gave the joycon to gamestop who send it to a company here in Germany that repairs products from and for nintendo. The joystic took 1 week to return!! That was the right thing because shortly after I had the console for 1 year, the right stick starter to drift xD if it gets worse I will give it to repair, too. I excuse my bad English

What a waste of a Switch... let me think, taking a box cutter to an intricate piece of electronic equipment - - what the heck did he think the outcome would be? A better test would have been to drop the unit on concrete and see how the unit would fare then; that is a more likely scenario especially with kids running on the playground etc.

He demonstrated the durability of the unit so people can feel at ease using it and/or take proper precautions before letting others use it (especially children.) So he didn't just scratch the screen, for example. He was using a hardness scale to indicate the level of durability. Many who would've forgone a screen protector, assuming the surface was glass, will now utilize one - I know I will. He does all this so we don't have to wonder and worry through gradual, daily use. So what you think is a waste is potentially going to protect and save many Switches. This one didn't suffer in vain.

Apple mostly did it for money. They didn't make any money off accessories using the headphone jack. They do, however, make money off accessories using the Lightning jack. So by removing the headphone jack, the only accessories that use a jack make Apple money.
