Samsung Galaxy Z Flip Durability Test - Fake Folding Glass?!

Today we find out how durable Samsungs new Galaxy Z Fold really is. The only way to find out is with a scratch test. Overall I’m impressed with the Galaxy Z Flip. If they change the name of their screen material to something besides glass I would give it a 10/10 as far as folding phones go. The only physical characteristic this screen material shares with actual glass is the clarity. And I dont think thats fair to consumers. At all. Let me know what you think in the comments.

From what I’ve found samsung did say (bf it launched) that they used ultra thin glass(30µm) but the touch layer is plastic.The inner layer is true glass(30µm), the scratch is from protective film(PET film which is plastic) which covers glass, bc glass is strong from scratches but when impacted hard it breaks. Then why use glass anyway until everything is well set....🤔

Tri lolwat Plastics are made from fossil fuels. Petrol. Glass is made from silicates. Sand. With different additives to give it different properties. Not Samsung’s fault ppl erroneously presume glass is defined by being “not scratchable/bendable.” It is a different type of glass. By that logic, *”bulletproof glass is not glass” just because it has different properties than regular window glass.* Even if the outer layer is protective plastic film on the on top of ultrathin glass. For example, is dust goes inside the hinge, the fibers would be forced into and rubbed against the dust every time the phone gets folded, this will wear out and rip the fibers. And if dust gets under the screen and come in contact the pixels and moving parts or anything delicate, it will crush and crack everything when it is folded/unfolded.

Great video Zack. I do have one small complaint: maybe you should do the dust test before the bend test in the future. The bend test might make it so that the frame is compromised and there are more acces points for dust than there might normally be. I don't think that's fair to the phone either! I have the new Nokia 9 And Its great i have been using it for months Now And It fell like 16463 times but there are no scratches at all not even one,i actually used it As Hammer Once (dont ask me plz) with the back sice And almost nothing happened but the only bad thing Is how laggy it Is i dont have bad WiFi at all i mean Its not the best but not the worst Its just Soo laggy, but it has an surprisingly good camera And Its an really good phone at alll And honestly i think that Nokia would make the first working foldable phone that Will work normally no fake glass screen no line in Middle So you can't Draw no breaking easyly And a good Price,honestly thats just my theory
