I like to diversify into many different industries at the start to get trade deals going. Only pick short term contracts to increase relationship. Once the relationship points accumulate and the deals start being +20 or more, pick a profitable export commodity and lock in a long term deal, then scale up that industry.

I played Tropico 1, 2, 3, & 4. I couldn't really get into 5. Tropico 6 is on sale this week so I picked it up. It has been a few years since I have played. But really enjoying it so far. My first time with the eras. Thanks for the videos!

I LOVE Tropico 5, absolutely love it! Tropico 6? Its actually surprisingly different. Multiple islands, no managers in buildings, no extended family for El Prez, Multiple workmodes for everything, and the big one for me is you can buy trade licenses instead of building another dock to get another ship/trade option. And thats not counting the drydocks (one of my personal favs in T5 bc it gives you 2 boats per dock). And thats just a few off the top of my head. So yeah, all advice is welcome, and new interactions, and layout tips are greatly appreciated. One thing tho, i used to build these little housing blocks that were copy paste residential zones that covered most tropicans needs and wants. But in this game, bus routes, checkpoints, parking decks, and the best place to build residential property in relation to industry for the sake of efficient travel times is something I'm struggling with, (if you understood what im trying to say). Any tips for that part? Great videos though, thanks for all your help brotha!

Watching this because I just bought the game over the weekend, and so far, I've just played the tutorial. And even then, I don't know what I'm doing. Thanks for this season. I'm looking forward to the rest of it. As far as island building, at least you're organized. I've played the mobile version (which I think is a port of Tropico 3, but don't quote me on that), and I just plop things down where there's room. I have had some extremely ugly islands, but hey, it actually worked out, because I have beaten various levels of the game.

Tropico 6 is my first Tropico and I just played it for the first time. I was always in the negative and couldn't figure out how to make certain things work. I played through all the tutorial first and still didn't have fun with the first mission and barely made it out of the Colonial era. Seems like Sandbox mode would be more up my alley if I can just make the game super easy. I bought this game for an entirely different reason than I suppose what it's intended for. I'm a shit player with very little patience and I don't really care to be challenged all that much in my games. This game is way more in depth than I thought it would be based off the trailer and screenshots I saw. Thought it was just going to be silly and simple like The Sims. Boy was I in for a rough surprise. Good thing I got it 50% off.

This is not a great video for someone who has not played Tropico 6. After about 10 hours of gametime and having played since the original, it has tons of good information. Just don't base your decision to play on this series.

from Tropico 4 to Tropico 6... the best way to start is to make coffee. Tropico 6 is best to make tobacco after coffee, then turn tobacco into cigars.

Thats on me actually, I forgot all about it and forgot to mention it will only show up if you have a certain DLC. Just ignore that part of the video and do the Creamery, Rum, and or Cigar Industry to start.

It means you don't have the product in the shop that they need to use. For rum it means you don't have sugar coming in. For tanning it means you don't have hides coming in. I think. Make sure you are producing what the facility needs and then make sure there are teamsters to deliver it.

This is way too conservative. You should be generating $1,000,000 before you even enter WW Era. Normally I have down 3-4 of each Plantation type and 5-6 of each Ranch type before I start into the refined industries like Rum or Lumber. Also export ALL the Gold your island has at the first era bc by the Cold War you’ll be focusing on Oil a ton anyway and so get the money in early and have a bigger base. I just finished a play session with $2,000,000 Treasury before I started in the World War era and took a break. You can’t be afraid of debt in this game or in real life if it’s the right type.
