I have seen two types of recycled tiles: with or without melting the plastic. The melting type of production is less pores and less conductivity on heat, also less likely to have mold. Not sure on this non-heat type, assuming lighter but similar property as traditional brick? Maybe less heat / impact resistant?

Now make big shredders and put your ground up waste plastic with closed cell Styrofoam cement powder krystoloc to make the concrete harder and re ground Styrofoam. Make molds for 8 foot high walls that have 4 inch square mesh wire for strength and holes for Windows.and conduit for electrical. Make the wall mold 10 and 20 foot long and have it lock together at the corners. You can make bridges water fall features garden art rock walls.i don't call that going green I call that going smart.

Concrete recycling is and has been around for many years now therefore I believe this may be a never ending recycled product , I’d be more concerned about safety to the barefooted folk walking on glass shards as the bricks would in time break down somewhat....
@peterzenhorst930
@peterzenhorst930 3 жыл бұрын
@@dave5litre462 I was not concerned aboit the concrete, neither about the glass. It is the plastics thats the problem. The grind them down to the stage of micro plastics and then hide them in concrete. So you cannot burn it, you cannot recycle just the concrete because its contamminated, so it probably ends up in landfill where ot releases said micro plastics to the envoironment. That was my point.
@glenvillis2385

You do the same as they currently do with concrete... you recycle the bricks and make new bricks out of them again. Pretty simple really.

I think its very useful for recyling plastic wastes.. there are reinforced concrete structures everywhere and no plastic used. Since plastic does not recyle properly and absort it, mixing them in reinforced concrete structures is a very good idea if its durable.

yo, i'm trying to figure out a way to re-use the torn out single use plastic trash produced by my family every week 🤔, i planned to buy myself a trash shredder but i don't have any idea what to do with the grits that will be made by the shredder. This mix is kind of interesting to me, no melting needed and accidentally inhale the toxic fumes. I wonder if the mixture can hold together for creating a proper plant pot? or it's just for creating bricks?

Interesting idea. However, I have a couple issues. One is that glass is easily recycled into new glass. Why destroy something that can be recycled? The other is that plastic degrades in sunlight so the bits of plastic aggregate that are exposed to the sun with break down and cause the surface of the brick to crumble which will eventually lead to total failure. I'll also echo the questions about compressive strength and water adsorption.
