This is a cover of an original track by Jan Cyrka. Product no longer available.
Armed with a killer axe, copious amounts of gain and a hard-hitting aggressive rock track, Jess Lewis seriously packs a powerful punch!
This intense, grooving, glorious track features memorable melodies and crazy guitar based mayhem for a truly exciting effect!

Definitely a rockish side of Jess we haven't seen before. Love that she is expanding her music vocabulary. Proves she can appeal to jazz listeners, rock listeners, and before she is done probably any listener who likes quality music played by a master of the guitar. Excellent!

Not the kind of music I listen to, play or like, but I listen to *anything* Jess plays. Her audio performance is just phenomenal. She plays multiple styles exceptionally well, memorises very complex pieces, has an astonishing technique (that right hand!) is cool, calm and collected - all impossible without thorough preparation, shed loads of time, a deep, world-class talent and passion for music. She is an inspiration and an original - I'd travel far to hear her play live. Any other bass player fans of this exceptionally talented and hardworking musician? I wish she'd post some of her bass videos too! 👍

Jess Lewis is beyond belief good. I kind of hate this style of music, and I wish she would stick to her jazz/fusion milieu, but here I have to make an exception. She's just incendiary on this track, melodically and technically. She just rips it up and the goose flesh up and down my spine never lets up.

And it came to pass that one day the world lost the pick of destiny ... and so it began that in the lonely places of the world wizards of the new millenia forged their skills and craftsmenship into a new age of destiny where the impossible became tamed and the wild chaos of fate made musical ... into this world they marched bringing hope and inspiration where desperation had ruled too long and despair had grown tangled in the hearts of those seeking the new song in the unknown of life...stepping forward they wielded the sword of Dorian and the axe of Arpeggio sweeping all resistance to transformation aside and all was made good again ... thus the age of the six stringed mage was born unto the ever listening cosmos ... a galactic phenomenon of effulgence in imagination never before seen nor heard ... they say in the beginning was the word and to the end the grand silence ... but none speak of the between - we do and its sound is shredded in our very souls as the fingerprints of the Creator whole, semitone, rhythm, rhyme and melody made manifest in harmonic eargasms of aural joy! ... And the earth was made good again...in the distance...the scaley dragons of modality roar ... there are no words in their language for this magic...they know only that it is the very voice of their Epic spirit calling them home one last time!

Cody Smith I guess that depends. If he bans Muslims from entering America, he's banned from my concerts. It was a joke based on what he said, I doubt I can legally ban him from my concerts and I have no means to try. In reality, I would welcome anyone, I hate anyone being excluded, even the ruler of the free world. He's still a person. I have a song in Urdu which is a Muslim language, I'll be bringing that one back for the US, it'll be a nice conversation starter. You just opened my mind, this is what it looks like inside. It's a mess! What's your opinion, Cody?

I'm diggin the tone out of the Ibanez but I honestly like the Gem she has a bit more. Steve Vai's signature model is one of the only artist branded guitars I have ever considered. If I could find the same guitar minus the carrying handle and with a different inlay pattern I would jump on it. I just prefer something unique to myself but the tone and the action of that guitar could make me look past the branding. I think I'll do some reserach and see how much it would be to either have one made for me to the same specs as Steve Vai's model with it's own look to it.

I see, it's a Jan Cyrka tune and solo, and Jan is the founder of JTC. So it's all cool. But it's nice to know when the artist is playing their own music, and when they're covering someone else. It was the same story when "Eternal Blues" turned out to be a Guthrie cover. But great stuff -- keep it coming !
@7thString84
@7thString84 7 жыл бұрын
She is really great! It's always a good thing to explore new ways. Even if just this short exploration remains. But what I like the most in her (awesome!) playing, is her badass vibrato (downward motion/rhythm vibrato)! Wow! I wished, I could do that so evenly (and evil) like her. :) I have sort of a weakness there, which takes me obviously a little longer to execute it like I want it to be. Wouldn't that be an idea for a tutorial or so? Not only Guthrie's bending masterclass, but also things like a good vibrato etc.? Short tutorial-packages for short cryptonite-things? ;) Just an idea... ;) Cheers!
