Getting Started with Polymer Clay: Prevent Smudging Mixed Media on Polymer Clay

Have you ever made a polymer clay veneer with mixed media only to have it smudged when you make your pendant? Well this tip tutorial should put a stop to that. Using this tip also means that you will now be able to sand and buff effects such as alcohol inks, mica powders and other mixed media that would have otherwise have been sanded off. It’s a technique I use all the time and I don’t know what I’d do without it.

Hi Samantha. I just "stumbled" on to this video and I am very glad I did! I have tried to copy sheet music onto polymer clay to make cute tube beads and every time, I smudged them. I have tried so many times and now I have a lot of scrap clay. I haven't tried this technique, but I am going to now! Thank you so much! I am certain this will work.
