In this tutorial I’ll show you how to make polymer clay lentil beads using scrap cane ends. This technique is great fun and can be done using any clay, but I find that cane ends really make the pendants pop.
I’ll also show a cool technique to turn lentil beads into flat or domed pendants. This is super easy and makes sanding so much easier. It also means more possibilities in bead shapes and stringing options.

Those are *SO* wonderful! I also don't like to use the lentil beads, so I always flattened them out. But from now on I will change the shape. I will buy the next days the tuto for the cherry blossom cane, I love it so much.

Love this idea especially for the odd shaped lentils. Susan from Turtle Bead Soup does the best lentils I think as far as the shape goes. She uses a smaller acrylic block so its is easier to control and the shape ends up being a more usable bead shape. Thanks again Jessama great tutorial.

Love the swirl of lentils but it's difficult to put holes evenly in them to string so reshaping is a great idea. Thanks for sharing!

They are beautiful!!! I’m new on making polymer clay jewelry, im feeling a little bit intimidated by opening the holes on the beads , how would you put a pin on this beads and turn it in to a necklace:)
@JessamaTutorials
@JessamaTutorials 6 жыл бұрын
Well. You simply make an eye pin with some round nose pliers, but about a 1.5 cm tail, bend that tail at a 90 degree angle and push that into the bead, curving the pin in so that it slips in smooth. I personally like to drill my beads with a pin drill as I find it easier after just a bit of practice of scrap beads.

Very nice and the beads are lovely. Do you think Kato clay is better for making beads? I am not sure of which one to use.

Personally, I like Kato and Premo equally. Between the two you can get almost any technique right.

I used mostly Kato in this project. It's quite a bit harder than premo and some other brands. What brand are you using?
