As an actor myself, I'm currently going through this in the theater🎭 industry. I've already had to decline a role because I wasn't comfortable performing it as a Christian. In film/television, it's a little bit different because of the actor's agent/agency and what they expect their actors to pursue. An actor's agent is responsible for getting their actors auditions through their connections with producers or casting directors. They usually don't like it when you turn down roles because they get paid when the actor lands a role. With that said, it's up to Gabe to communicate with his agent/agency and let them know beforehand if he's not comfortable with taking certain roles. Gabe has to be the one to put his foot down and say no, even if it means being jobless(in acting anyway), or getting dropped by an agency. For me personally, I've already decided that no role is worth compromising my walk with the Lord Jesus Christ(Mark 8:36). If God should bless me with a wife, then I will apply that same principle and reject kissing roles, to protect my marriage and the heart of my wife. Like I said, at the end of the day. It's going to come down to Gabe, and his conviction when he's put in that situation. Ephesians 5:25-28 KJV "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself."

I agree. I had to have that conversation with my agent when I was pursuing acting. If Gabe doesn’t feel he needs to have that same conviction, I still pray on behalf of Jess that those doors will be closed. Thanks so much for sharing your journey and thoughts as a Christian in entertainment. 🙏🏽

Definitely agree with you and @elbertrobles8784. Acting is truly my passion but it became too difficult to pursue a career in the industry knowing what I might have to do. I'm praying the Lord will come alongside me in the future with plans for making my own films.

Honestly, no job and nothing in this life is more important than your spouse and your relationship with them. A paycheck isn't worth it if it means hurting the most important person in your life, someone you have vowed before God to love, cherish and respect. Jess's feelings are totally valid. And it's not like they desperately need the money from that role.

The conversation about compromising in the industry is definitely something I've thought and prayed about often. Needless to say, the morality of Hollywood is just so much worse than it was even 10 years ago. Inappropriate language/behavior has become the norm, and not even for the sake of a redemptive story arc. Filmmaking and acting is my preferred career of choice, but it has become too difficult knowing the things I would have to say or do. It kind of feels like I am repressing a part of myself. But I would give it all up for the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus our Lord. He is faithful and He is good. I am praying He will use me to make (quality) films that anyone can enjoy. Love you both in the Lord 💜

I agree with the comment from raquel. the expectations on young actresses to be naked and shown having sex in today’s movies is extreme. In some interviews, actresses say it’s just part of the job. Says who! The imagination is more powerful than reality and the hint of sex is sufficient for the plot. As part of the me too movement, Hollywood introduced the intimacy coach. But that doesn’t make it appropriate to protect the emotional well being of a young actress. One director has stated that he intentionally included a sex scene not in the original screen play just to change the rating. The pressure for someone starting out must be overwhelming. If you don’t do it, you don’t get the job and you’ll never have a career if you can’t get started. Unfortunately, I don’t see a solution. It’s sexual exploitation but overt rather than hushed up. So sad.

It’s so rude to comment on anyone’s body regardless, some people really need to stop and think before commenting, put yourself in that situation and ask yourself how you’d feel if someone did it to you. Never assume a woman is pregnant, if she says she is, then you can give your congratulations/blessing/prayers whatever, DO NOT ASSUME. It does so much damage.

Why does gabe treat Jess weird sometimes haha like when she said the Jonathan property thing, he looked and acted like he had second hand embarrassment for her when there was no reason bc what she said was not even weird lol and on the other podcast I feel like he made her feel weird for loving celebrities so much when they first met. Idk maybe it’s just me. I know Gabe probably doesn’t mean it in that way, it’s just something I’ve noticed in past vlogs and stuff and sometimes I feel bad for Jess like I hope she knows it’s not weird and doesn’t need to feel embarrassed about certain things. Because the bible says it can be degrading for another (break another down instead of building them up), it can cause hurt and offences with others and the Lord wants us to use our mouth in a godly manner whereby we don't say obscene and filthy words.

I don't believe it's explicitly forbidden or called a sin in the Bible, but God does call us to be "set apart" from the world (basically to act differently, and try to be a light in the world) and I just don't see swearing as productive or positive, in a lot of cases it makes people uncomfortable and is considered vulgar. I think it's not "forbidden" but more so frowned upon and highly implied that we should try and be different in a good way.
