Spurgeon’s Birthday Week!

Last year we started this tradition of giving a gift each day of the week leading up to our kid’s birthday. It spreads out the celebration and gives them an opportunity to pause and appreciate each gift rather than opening them all at once. They look forward to this with great anticipation - and so do I!

Spurgeon is so mature for his age! So much patience with his younger siblings, and so well spoken. I love seeing parents who prioritize raising their children, and do things like the week long birthday to let them know they are treasured.

I gave my son his Swiss Army knife when he was 6, It is still brand new, in the box in his nightstand. He is 13 now, he said he doesn't want to mess it up, oh well, I tried.

grandma did ours on the doorframe in kitchen into hallway, which was by the corded phone then. good news is its not going anywhere, grandma been here since 1964 and i plan on keeping the house!

I just love how your stretch your children's birthdays for a whole week, with a meaningful gift on each day. I did this for my roommate one year. She had grown up in foster care & hadn't always had the best birthdays. I gave her a gift each day with the main gift being on her actual birthday. She said it made her feel special. I know your children feel so special when you do this for them. It also seems that they get to really enjoy each gift as they receive them.💕

😍 Ivy when she asked for her birthday was too precious. Then when you mentioned that the binoculars were so Spurgeon could see the construction site. Ivy says it’s right there and pointed to the site. Haha too precious!

Jesse is so different from my mom who also had 4 kids. She never worked, My father always worked yet my mom always made it like she was the busiest person ever. She’d NEVER celebrate our birthdays for a week because Everything was a bother to her haha jessa encourages the kids to do things. My mom was always afraid of us getting hurt. Also, Jessa’s patience is beautiful to watch. I love this family ❤️🥰
