This was an excellent exercise, I made it with PVA Tempera, which is very similar to acrylic gouache, the only difference is that the binding material is poly-vinyl-acetate (PVA). The biggest trick I've learned from Ms Chung was that gorgeous olive green can be mixed with black and lemon yellow. I was struggling with smooth transitions on the sky, though. I used 100% cotton paper, too: Art Philisophy, but I did't find a major difference between painting gouache on 100% cotton or 0% cotton watercolor paper, honestly. I was wondering, if I buy the Jess Chung x Craftamo brush set to use with PVA tempera? Secondly, does Ms Chung give acrylic gouache lessons on her Skillshare course?

I don’t mind if my paper is cotton or not when painting with gouache. Make sure your paint consistency is nice and creamy when painting transitions so that way there’s plenty of paint to move around on the paper and blend. I don’t have an acryla gouache tutorial on skillshare yet. I personally dedicate different brushes specifically to acryla gouache because I find they can ruin brushes more easily like acrylic paint does, but if you don’t mind that then yes my brush set is very much suited to acryla gouache too :)
